Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

See the link 2 posts below by Emy. Remember to type in the password from your form letter in ALL CAPS to download. Just write in the info. You will need this to drive onto RTC. If taking the shuttles, you won't need it but would if you are returning your sailor to RTC that night and want to drive onto the base.

Comment by ScoobyDoo Ship 14 Div 335 on August 23, 2013 at 3:06pm: Received a letter from my SR yesterday, said that her DIV has recieved two flags, inspections and if I remember correctly for education. She said she was awarded a ribbon for shooting. She sounds great and is excited for BATTLE STATION since she knows that means she is near the end. Stated she gets goosebumps everytime she walks past the PIR Hall. :)

While I typically LOVE Thursdays, yesterday was a melancholy type of day - I have not heard my SR's voice for 22 days now, and just long to hear the "HI MOMMY!!!" I keep telling myself that its ONLY 1 more Friday and 13 days till I will be able to give that 'awkward' long hug to her - and that I have "survived" 47 days, what is another 13!!! HA RIGHT!

My SR best friend left for college yesterday as well, she is like my 2nd daughter so I am sure that is not helping my emotional state - thankfully she is only 1 hour away, will most definately be making those trips up there to see her.

Comment by diannep on August 23, 2013 at 11:40am: Tinat: Test it out next Friday with the 08/30/2013 PIR group. The broadcast starts at 8:45 am Central time, I believe, and is over around 10:30 am. That way, you can get any kinks out with the livestream a week ahead of time!

She sounds really good. Finally getting excited for graduation and seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. She said their division is now working well together. Looking forward to meeting everyone at Meet & Greet!

She is in 339 I have met lots of people from 340 the other division with her and I can't wait to meet you all at Sarge's Meet & Greet!

Seconded to all the support remarks, and Bchis, pretty sure that you get it by now, but thank you for often asking the questions I hadn't even thought of yet! As a military spouse of over 20 years, I applaud you for your support & for just having the chutzpah to get on here & ask look for the answers you need. Your sailor & your kid(s?) are very lucky to have you. Hooyah!
