OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

I got a letter today!  Attitude is much improved from previous letters, which is a relief.  He wants a pic of himself with his beard, he says there a lot of SRs that remind him of different people back home and he thought the minion pic was funny and ironic.

I got a letter today! She said she is STRESSED! She wrote a lot and apologized for complaining. She said she just doesn't have a way to escape. She can't just go to the gym or call her sister. She wants pictures from home.

I got a letter (ship 14 div 335) and it was a good one this week! Oh thank the Lord.  My husband (her stepdad) has a birthday this weekend and she remembered and put a separate letter in for him.  He has been the dad in her life since she was 8, and he taught her so many things.  He's a tough blue collar guy and he tried for years to toughen up my little fru-fru girly girl.    In her letter to him she says "I tell so many stories from home and you're in a lot of them. I wish I could run up to you and tell you every time I do something tough!"  Brought my tough guy to tears with that letter.

She passed her swim test! 15 foot drop, 500 yard swim, and prone float (while being kicked by others who were freaking out), & coverall inflate while praying it would work. Still working on the other PFA's and she said her pushups still suck. But she's getting stronger.

No real details at all about what they are doing, which is typical her.  I can still hear her in her writing.  She hasn't changed much in that regard.  But this one was no whining or misery so it put my heart at ease.

CatMom509 - Yes you did mention you admired the Snoopy icon.  :)

I wonder if today will bring a letter or phone call....   Time will tell.  I did get one letter out to SR this week but I'm disappointed I didn't write at least one more.  I'm up to my eyeballs getting ready for my daughter's bridal shower in two weeks.  I need to make it priority to find the space in time to write another letter today to SR.  So I will.
