~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Just a reminder that there is lots of info posted under the MEMBERS PHOTO BOX above/to the right in the PAGES section. Please be sure to read through this if you haven't already. Check periodically since info may be added to it.
Yes, Tina. The 900 divisions work 2 PIRs in addition to their own, I believe. Lala will have more info since her daughter was in a 900 division. There are not only the performing members in the group, but ones who tend to the VIPS during the ceremony, door holders, etc.
Thank you diannep! My son had a couple teachers in HS like that also, the "stuff" is in his head and he knows it to talk to him but to put it on paper somehow kicks his butt.
N4M is so helpful and I am so glad my son's recruiter directed me to it.
Tammy: I can SO relate to your test post with my two sons. My younger son (27 now) had a wonderful high school teacher once. She told me she KNEW that he knew the material covered on the test, but when she looked at his paper, it was mostly wrong. She literally "chased him down" as he was leaving school, called him back into her classroom, and gave him the test orally. She said he did great. He is out of the Navy now and back working on his Bachelors....he is continuing his struggle with "tests." Very frustrating to him!
Prayers for your son on Tuesday, that he can really focus on the material he knows is right there in his head!
Hopefully you will get your call sometime after his test is over and he will be able to tell you that he feels he did quite well on it. My son just took 2 midterms last week...the first one, he said he felt he did horrible (and he did). The 2nd one, he said he felt much more confident, and thankfully, he received a B. Struggling test-takers don't seem to be limited to those who don't do so well in school....many who do very well in school can struggle with tests---my nephew is like that....maybe nerves? I don't know....but that is why I'm so sorry that SATs/ACTs are so important for students to do well on in order to get into college...so many are bright young men/women who just struggle when taking tests, especially standardized tests. Sigh....
zachsmom: I agree with ctz: Please try to go on the no news is good news theory. If there is a delay in their PIR date for any reason, you will be contacted by your SR. So hopefully the silence means that all is well!
Good Morning All !
Thanks diannep. That's what I was thinking too. Praying for him and all the other recruits.
zachsmom94,
Watches in boot camp are about 2 hours long, but real watches in the Navy are anywhere from 4, 6, 12 hours!!
