Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Love that movie!

Yes, it will be!

"Fun With Dick and Jane" is keeping me laughing right now so I I'll try not to raise the Bat Signal yet.

This is the place to do that!  So continue to vent and write your worries here.  Just remember too....lack of phone calls can be a scheduling conflict also...with so many SRs there at once and limited phone banks...that can happen.  There's always tomorrow!  Hoping that you hear from her soon....that will be one happy post you will put here then!

I was just going but what she said last week. They didn't perform well as a team last week so they lost a lot of phone calls and then this week, they would have only been given a phone call if they performed better than the previous... and still no call. I'm still hoping for one so I'm not completely bummed yet.

I knew there would be periods of no contact during deployments. I'm not going to enjoy those anymore than this.

I've definitely let her know she has lots of love and support at home but that doesn't help me one bit. :/

I'm hanging in there and I'll live... just not happily while she is gone. Just wanted to write my worries somewhere.

bchis:  Sigh.....my son's division hardly ever got calls, but they earned Hall of Fame flag....the highest honor....so see?  The lack of calls doesn't necessarily mean they are not doing well.  You have to consider this lack of communication as practice for when she is deployed...There are "blackout" times when there is no communication then....my feeling is that the greatest gift you can give to your wife is to let her know that you love her/miss her terribly (which I'm sure you have let her know) but you will be ok.

Hang in there....

I have been hoping for a call since Thursday. It's driving me crazy... If they get calls when they are doing well, no news is NOT good news... I'm glad my SR hasn't been injured or set back but I would also like my SR to have a division that is doing good. I'd rather her boot camp not be more difficult than it has to be. 2 weeks in a row with lost privileges means they aren't doing good together at all. I just wish I knew something... anything.

My blue candle did some burning today.  I was really hoping for that phone call.  So to cheer me up and do the positive, I down loaded Lala's questionnaire......really a good one, thanks, and I ordered two ribbons from Lala's site for my husband and myself for PIR. My husband has also told me he wants a polo shirt that says "Proud Navy Dad" so I need to find one of those probably at the Navy Outfitters. As the Navy SEALS say, the only easy day was yesterday!    <G>
