OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

taptap: I've sent pictures and stamps but nothing bulky so far.  On the main boot camp website they have a family guide.  On the second page it talks about mail and care packages.  Seems they can't but here's the link so you can read it.

Happy Happy!! Got a letter from our son - it's the 1st one! (that he personally wrote). We talked to him this weekend and he said nothing about getting his wisdom teeth pulled - imagine my shock when I read it in the letter! Also, he is saying I can send a care pkg but NO food -- what do you think?? He is asking for whitening toothpaste, a good toothbrush and a family picture (aaugh), oh and 2 Q-tips. It seems like minor items but I don't want to get him in trouble - any other recruits asking for stuff?? He is in Ship 12/Div 331. (hmm...rereading it seems he might have wrote this letter while on pain meds, so i'm not sure about mailing a pkg?) Regardless, happy to get a letter!!

No letter today so I guess my "stake out" of the mailbox will continue tomorrow.
Anybody get mail today??

If you are looking for calling cards contact CallsforRecruits.org.  If you email them saying you need some they will email them to you.  The cards are good for up to 20 minutes per call and can be used 1 time.  The idea is for your SR to keep 6 and give away 2 to a SR who does not have a phone card.

Ship12 331...all of our calls have been Saturday morning.  It's interesting that some SR on the same ship call in the evening.  I am curious to know how it all works!

My boy too Is on ship 03 DIV 338 and he said on Saturday, I will try and call you next week. No day was given though. I'm sure it Depends if the unit is good and not get in trouble.
