Where is everybody?? Missing you guys.
I received an email from A this afternoon. The kind of schedule that he had been working has equated to the following: "I got really sick yesterday. I'm siq today the doctor thought I had appendicitis, a soar throat, an ear
infection, a cold, and bronchitis all at once. I have to take 4 different
types of pills and I have an inhaler. I'm doing much better tonight
because I had all day to sleep and rest in my rack. I'll b good by
tomorrow".
No freakin' wonder! I guess I don't need to tell any of you how disturbing this all is. Please pray for his health and stamina to return. He has been the most healthy kid his whole life. Never has had bronchitis, rarely an ear infection even as a child ..... and I've actually read some alarming statistics about the number of appendix removal surgeries there are. God help him.
Good morning!
Cold-Blooded - can't wait to hear about yesterday and to see pictures of you in your new 'mean to the bone' gear. Have you been practicing those elbow jabs?
Seriously Shelly? Are we now looking to October 21 for the world to end? My sons always watched The Simpsons and I saw a funny spoof of it this morning. I guess there has been a whole episode dedicated to this in the past. I grew up Baptist, so I am well aware of the whole rapture concept and was taught (as you pointed out Iris) that we would not know the hour of His coming ..... sadly this guy was well-intentioned and held a strong conviction for his beliefs .... but now he has spent his life savings. With no disrespect to the true nature of what a second coming will be, I offer this with a smile:

Feeling your excitement Hurley .... so close now.
Happy Sunday to you all .... will try to come back on later today .... and, as always, RSL and EBB! (So yin and yang, light and dark, good and bad) .... or evidence of our psychosis!)
lmao about the neighbor and the pool thing hurley! that's sooo funny! maybe you should have sent her to mary's house! ha! well, i would like to say that my son is studying something but, of course, have not heard a word out of him. what's up with that? grrrr!
yeah iris.....we want pics! i would like to say that sounds like fun but it sounds like it might hurt too. i think i'll stick with walking my pup. wooooo.....i'm such a dare devil! ha!
I'm ashamed to say that i didn't know that is was Armed Forces Day (thanks Donna!). Tell your sailors how much we appreciate their service to our great country!
as for the rapture.... well, i'm still here and there's only 4 more hours.... if it's coming, it better hurry! actually, i was watching tv and the guy who said it would be today (he looks like he's 109 years old) changed it up and now i think it's Oct 21. I hope that's on a Saturday cuz i don't think i can get that day off of work!
ok... gotta run.....gotta go cheer the OKC Thunder on...... hope they win tonight!
Morning Ladies - Happy Armed Forces Day and Happy Rapture Day.
I'm not looking to offend anyone, but could someone tell me how today became the second coming and who is behind the billboards? I was under the impression that was kind of a secret to human kind, thus the "be good all the time, just in case" thing.
Well, I am a busy, busy girl today. Going to go set up for the bout and then come home and skype with Haley. I heard from her scary little friend that they got 12 hour shifts. Yay! That should alleviate a lot of the exhaustion thing. Then pick up Cody's friend Jimmy and we are back to the bout. Tomorrow I have my Father-in-law's wedding. Gene's mom passed about 2 years ago to breast cancer and his Dad has met someone new. We are very happy for them. They seem a very good match. So the weekend is packed with stuff to do.
My poor BBQ is in bad shape. I was FINALLY cleaning it out (due to the fact that they are using it at the wedding) and when I chiseled through the final layer of gunk, I realized that a good portion of the grills metal had deteriorated. Gene is going to take a look at it today to see if he can whip something up in the shop to fix it. I think I took "Seasoning the Grill" too far.
Well I have to hit the showers. Chat with you all soon and have a great weekend. RSL!
Morning Ladies -
Mrs. B - Thank you. What sweet words. I do feel very fortunate that my family is close and we have fun together. My advise is to teach them to communicate freely, take their feelings seriously, laugh a lot, and schedule time together. I think you already have a very good start. Your husband adores you (Rose's - smart man), your son adores you, and it sounds like you are a team. =)
Hurley - What does your husband say about this romance with the mailman? I'm assuming he's not the jealous type. =) Lol... I'm so happy you got a letter from your son. 2 weeks! Yay!!!! Yes I remember being so excited about this time. So close you could taste it. Battle Stations was this big looming challenge yet to come, but the last hurdle. I'm sure Matt will do great on the run. Keep us posted, can't wait to celebrate with you.
Dyl's Mom - I think we all lived with our phones during boot camp. Buzzing Bra Babes or something like that. Lol..... Oh and thanks for the concern. Lol.... They are suppose to teach us how to fall. I'm sure I'll have my share of bruises. Maybe one of them will look like Abraham Lincolns face. =) Ha ha ha ha.... Now as far as kid lingo - somehow it sounds stupid when I say it. Good luck with that.
Mary - Yay, you got into skinnier pants. Isn't that a good feeling. My fat pants are starting to have a saggy butt (so if I pull them halfway down my ass, I should look cool) and my muffin top is shrinking. Lol... I just laid out yesterday to catch a little of the rare sun we are having and I had the same thought. Allllllllll... this was hanging out. LOL..... My goodness you have a lot of Nakey around your house. lol.... You are killing me. =) Thanks for the great laughs.
Well, I will be Skyping with Haley this evening. Yay! She dropped me a quick email that said she's working and studying. I'll be glad when all her certifications are done and I'm sure, so will she. Oops... take that back. She just emailed me that she's exhausted and wanted to know if we can move it to tomorrow afternoon. What is up with the Navy and lack of rest. Doesn't seem efficient to me to have your people not rested well.
Tomorrow is a Derby Brawl. STDD's (Sick Town Derby Dames) vs. Cherry City 8 Wheel Assassins. I'm helping set up from 9 - 1300 and then working the door from 1900 - 2100. I bought tickets for my son and his friend. They are really excited to go to this. I'll get to see about an hours of the bout before I have to man the door. I'm a little nervous and excited about the first practice.
Well I have a coffee date with a friend that I haven't seen in a few weeks, so I better hit the showers. Have a great day everyone! Hugs and Happiness to you all.
wow hurley! that really does bring back memories! i remember the first time dyl's called home and we was allowed more than 3 mins to talk. me and hubby were at the sports bar watching an ou football game when he called. when he first called my hubby accidently hung up....omg! i thought i was gonna push him over the railing! when he called back, i snatched up that phone and took off outside. i was the happiest mom in the world that day! now, i haven't heard from him since saturday.....sad face :( this kind of bites!
good idea nicole on the pic thing...... i'll start looking around for something interesting. maybe someone will throw away a kleenex in the trash can and it will look like the image of abraham lincoln or something! lol!
aj, that cranking thing is making me nervous. 6 to 9pm is too long as far as i'm concerned....but, of course, last time i checked, i wasn't in charge of the navy. what do i know! did you say he's done with that now or is he still doing it? i like having 2 sites for the group. the fb will be great for more private information. i think we should keep it.
iris, congrats on the weight loss! that's awesome! better be careful with those falls though..... you never know how your going to land! we can't do without you if you hurt yourself, so i'm really just looking out for the best interests of the group and not your bum! lol!
talk to ya soon.....rsl,ebb.....keep it real (as the kids would say) hee hee! peace out! (i really need to get hanging out with the kids!)
