Hi Ladies!
Well, things are going really, really well our way. Paul loves his job (which is so good, because he was so depressed before). He is most likely being moved to full time and soon, he will be certified and will be making around $18 an hour!!! :) That will be SO nice, because right now, we're not making our bills and it's a bit too tight.
TJ cut his first two teeth last night! He is so cute and is doing pretty good. Been running a low grade fever, but of course, that's been due to the teething. He is such a tough little guy though! He is SUCH a boy! He rolled over yesterday and banged his head pretty hard on the coffee table and he fussed for like half a second and then just got over it. He has already had his share of bumps and bruises, yet he keeps chugging on. And get this; he does a baby version of pushups... he literally gets on his hands and "toes" and pushes himself up and down, up and down, up and down.... He LOVES it! Haha. I think I have a little Sailor or Marine in the making. :)
As for me, I am just being a house wife right now, trying to loose weight to get back down to my little skinny self, like I used to be, before baby. Haha! (But I'm not being very successful. So the Hubs is my personal PT and boy, he knows how to push me...LOL) I am still working on my certification with DONA to become a Doula, but it's not coming very fast. I'm sorta waiting till I can afford a baby sitter for TJ so I can attend births.
I have a doctors appointment to get some blood work done. Been really dizzy and just plain not feeling good lately. I've been gaining weight and not been able to loose it and having headaches along with some lady problems. They said they're doing to do a blood test to rule out thyroid problems and pregnancy. I keep telling everyone I'm not pregnant, but they don't believe me. LOL... I guess I could be surprised, but I just don't think so, because IF I were pregnant, then it would be nothing like my pregnancy with TJ. (besides the weight gain.)
Well, I didn't read everyone's posts....sorry! I am not trying to ignore everyone. I normally read the posts late at night when TJ is in bed and the Hubs is playing video games. Iris- I am SO glad Haley got to come home! I hope she is doing well and I hope Cody had a great birthday. AJ- so glad your son is out of River City! I hope for the rest of the deployment that they don't have to have that again. Nicole! Ouch! I hope your toe gets better soon. And I hope the best for your bf and yourself. Remember the 7-9 weeks they're in boot doesn't last forever!!!! Blessings to each and every one of you! Sorry if I'm skipping over something important. TJ is fussing and needs attention...DUTY calls! LOL
Donna! That picture of your daughter was so awesome. I can imagine your excitement in opening that up and seeing her right there in front of you! What a surprise. Ditto all the other comments!
Mary .... tall girls slouch so they won't be taller than the boys!
Hurley ... thanks for sharing about Spirit ... that explains a lot. I'm glad we get to be your surrogate Coasties moms and that you are sticking with us! I am going to look up that video next to watch Marc and the guys out on their run.
Holy cow .... didn't know that you heard stuff from Matt that was being talked about on here while we were all in boot camp .... we could set up a private FB page if that would feel more comfortable.
Iris .... have you seen Whip It? I think Mary brought that up a couple of days ago.
I've got to keep moving on something today, but wanted to stop by and see what I was missing ..... more later.
Thanks Iris, I thought that was a pretty cool picture also. Yes, that smile and glint in the eye makes me think I don't want to be the one she is shooting at.
Yes, it did jump right out at me also, but there is a plant that people bring into the hospital that is red and looks just like that. Besides, it is in with a bunch of other plants. Do they really think someone was laying down for this?LOL
Iris, have fun with the Derby. You are always into something new and stay so busy.
Hope everyone has a great day!!!
Morning Ladies -
Donna - Very Cool! Love the picture and so happy she is doing well. I love the little glint in their eye and the smile on their face that they get when they are shooting guns. Strong, independent, confident, young women. So awesome.
AJ - Wow, I suppose my mind is further in the gutter than I thought if Mary, Hurley and Donna didn't see the phallic symbol in your photo. That bad boy jumped right out at me. =) Lol....I got my passport application in yesterday. Yay! Now if I could only get a job to pay for all the fun things I want to do.
To whomever felt bad about their kiddo having to drop classes (AJ? or was it Mary?) As far as the college classes go, I bombed some of my courses my first time around but was able to go back and retake the classes for a better grade later on. It replaced the old one. I think. All I know is that I had some dismal 2 point something after the first go around and finished up with 3.85 when I completed the second time. It would be nice if it worked the same for your son. I know the issue I'm having with advice is that I don't know the in's and out's of the Navy. Haley will ask me what I suggest on something and all I can reference it to is the civilian world. I have no idea to her time commitments. So you really can't beat yourself up over this because your advice was based on the assumption he'd have down time, which I think is reasonable.
Okay ladies I think we should do something fun like my sister's and I just did. Any suggestions? I think it has to be a little goofy and we have to post pics. I know time is an issue with a lot of you busy ladies, so it should be something that isn't going to take a huge amount of time. Put your thinking caps on and throw out suggestions.
Today I am going shopping for my Derby gear. Saturday I'm volunteering to help with a bout. Then next week is my New Skater Day. I'm really stoked about this. I sure hope it's as much fun as I think it will be.
Cody's knee has been bugging him so I made an apt with the doctor this morning. I'm hoping it's just that he's been putting a lot of strain on it with all the PTing he's been doing. I want to make sure we send him in in as good of shape as possible. Hate to see him having joint issues already. I'll let you know what the doctor says.
Well, I should get the slow on the road. Sorry if I missed commenting on some of the pics. I was too afraid to go back and refresh once I started typing. Hugs to you all. =) RSL!
Awesome photo Donna!!!
