Hey all, wow, Isorry I haven't been on for a bit. Been meaning too but was so busy with my youngest son getting married this past Friday on the 29th, same day as William and Kate. It was a big wedding with all the bells and whistles, don't know why these kids need to spend so much money on just one day! But it was a fabulous wedding and day. I still have company in town but after tomorrow I am company free! Family started coming in the week prior to Easter so I can say I am a bit burnt out. They've Knicks named my house " The Resort and Spa" go figure. Guess cause we treat our guests well. That's all ok with us, we love having a full house. All my kids made it into town but Marc, but he was I am sure thinking about his brother from Cape May. Oh and we got our first letter from him, he said it is the toughest thing he has ever done in his life. Oh yeah, and the mailman and I have a relationship again!

So happy your port is removed! And what a great thing to have Haley home soon! I love the pictures of your son and date. So handsome.

I'm sorry Mary you are I'll. Derrick sounds like he is doing well. He is coming home soon! Give him back the tracker!

Happy anniversary MrsB! So happy all is going well for you. The baby is getting so big! He's going to be a little California boy!

Oh I just loved the pictures from the churches AJ, the ones at Easter. Seems they really know how to celebrate the holidays. Just beautiful!

What a cool story Lyn, I bet you felt so happy to give a sailor a little bit of home so far away from home. My husband is a Vietnam Vet and I know he would have loved the company of a home girl even if it was for just a movie or a dance.

I think I may be in your shoes soon d o, my oldest my move home after moving just a few months ago to up state NY with his wife to be. They hate it there, guess they didn't realize they lived in paradise until they left. But it will be ok, I hope!

Nichole, so happy you are getting such good grades. As for your job, it's never too late to learn a new language!

Wow Dyl'sMom, so happy you had home time with him. Something he'll remember being the last on a ship that's being decommissioned. Picking your orders sounds like a good deal to me, but then again I'm happy just sitting in my chair with my dog. How's Holly doing
. Does she still love the AF? Is Heather planning her wedding?

Ok well I hope I didnt forget anyone. I need o get back to my company. Have to get them to the airport at 5am! Uggg three days in a row. Feels like I am working again! Nooooooo

RSL, I'll take that right now.  Here's what happened.  I found a cruise to Spain for 299$ I'm serious.  13 nights.  My mom was going to go with me, but she had an iffy medical test and has to retake it.  So if it's nothing, we'll regret missing this good deal, and if it's something we'll regret not getting to go again because of her age.  All through my husbands treatment, I would tell myself when this is all over we'll go on a cruise.  Well they threw him into the deep end when he started back to work-no easing him into it, so he couldn't go either.  I feel like I'm losing my best friends.  AJ I think you might be the only other person out there with a valid passport right now.  Don't think I didn't think of you!  Have you heard from A yet?

My oldest is trying to make a fresh start.  He does seem to be trying in ways he hasn't before, so keep us in your prayers.  It's hard not to enable, but we have been quite firm about it.  He's seeing how his brothers are doing and is looking into the military, however I don't think he'll be eligible for so many reasons.  So he needs to find "his" way, but for some reason I never worry about this one, I feel sure in the end he will.

Iris I so identify w/ the Lol...Whaa....That's cute about your husband.  They have their own ways of showing how they feel when sailors come home.

Mary are you feeling better?

Comment by iris - Wahiawa, Hawaii on May 1, 2011 at 1:18pm

Morning Ladies - Hope you are all enjoying your weekend.

AJ - This is probably the toughest thing you've had to do as a Mom, isn't it? When they take the care of your child out of your hands, yikes! Haley is weening me too. I'm happy to report that she is more confident, having fun, developing many friendships, and really exploring who she is and wants to be. Which means, she forgets to call/skype her mama cause she's having so much fun. Lol...Whaa...Lol...Whaa...  Tough bit being a mom. When they get off the silent thing I'm sure your son will be getting a hold of you. He misses you, he just can't focus on that too much or else he won't adjust to Navy life. Anyhow, hang in there sunshine and for heaven sake, don't give us a break from your chatter, we love it.

Mary - So what did Dereck decide? Memorial Day or the 4th? Cody is going to be really surprised. I was surprised that my husband decided to skip work on Friday to go pick up Haley together. I think he has missed her. Ahhhh....  You are so close on the schooling, hang in there. And I do and don't hope the antibiotic's kicked in, I mean, just at the right time. =) Speedy recovery.

DO - Yay for grandkids. Boo on the oldest moving back in and hubby back at work. What happened that the oldest had to come back home? My sister Rose had one, her oldest (girl) that just doesn't seem like she'll ever be ready to take responsibility for herself and my sister can't let her experience the pain she needs to to learn how. Tough. I understand my sister's feelings of "need to take care of my babies" but she isn't doing Britt any favors by not letting her learn. It's tough being a mom. And Cruise... great idea. My hubby owes me a trip to the Panama Canal. =)

Dyl's Mom - Yay for your boy being home. Sorry the weather has been crap, but that is kind of good. Now he stays indoors with you. He he he....  Now make sure you tell him that skyping is necessary to the sanity of us mom's so he just needs to pick and choose when to skype you in private if he's embarassed to do so in front of his buddies. Also, tell him skyping get's him homemade goodies from home. Bet they'd all be on board with that one. Lol.....

Well.. not much happening. It's actually a gorgeous day today. We might hit 70 so I'm going to hurry and get my butt out there. Mowing the yard and doing a little yard work. Woo Hoo... it's been two years. I'm ready. Two weeks and Haley will be here. She also said she's planning on coming home for Christmas. Sooooo Happy that my kiddo wants to come home. I really think it's because of the food, but hey, I don't care. Lol......

Anyhow, have a great rest of your weekend. Haley is going to skype me today, she forgot yesterday. Seems my guilt laden note worked and she will be on at 1500 my time. =)))

Hugs, Rainbow's, Lollipop's, and Sunshine to you all.

How's this for a M.D hint:  Do you want me to come out there and spend it with you?

Just found out that it will be for several more weeks ..... and that just sucks.

Hi girls ..... I thought I would give you guys a bit of a break from my chatter .... I spent the last ten days or so in a very quiet and contemplative place .... I'll catch up here on all your news ...... I did continue to keep you all in my thoughts and prayers.

A has been on River City for almost two weeks now .... the longest yet .... big sigh ....... so I have no news to report from him.

I hope you are all doing well and I will be back in the flow here now.

Hugs and love to each of you.  :)

hi group!   hope everyone had a great easter!  it was nice having dyl's home....the weather sucked!  rainy and cold all day....boooo!   dyl's was starting to think he was still in chicago!  ha!  guess i should be glad it was only rain (which we needed desperately) instead of those nasty tornados that blew threw alabama.  that is so awful!!

Hope everyone is doing ok!

Iris, glad Haley is getting to come home, even if only for a short time!  it will be so cool that she gets to make it a surprise!

Mrs B... so glad things are finally going your way!

Mary...so what's up with the nerds beating the marines?   that's crazy!   and funny!   hope they don't take it too personally!  ha!  I'm sure D is a little homesick,...hasn't it been awhile since he's been there?  there's nothing better than seeing their face!  i even got excited when we would get to skype!  then dyl's got roommates and all of a sudden, he didn't want to skype anymore.  guess he didn't want his roomies thinking he was talking to his momma everyday!  lol!

do, hope your having fun with the g-kids!  they are such blessings and i can't wait till the day that i get some!   don't get me wrong....don't want to rush it but seems like i fall in love with every baby i see these days!

Grand kids are here for spring break, so I haven't been on to much.

Iris the pictures are great of your son and friend.  How exciting to have Haley fly in.

My oldest moved back in -I'm not excited, but believing for the best.

Husband's back at work. You would think all of this was good, but now I miss him really bad and sleeping alone isn't all it's cracked up to be.  I need a cruise!

Glad to hear the good news Mrs.B

Good Morning Ladies.

Well if you are all like me, things are kind of dull. Haley is doing well. She's hanging out with friends, getting her work done, keeping her room clean, keeping in shape and enjoying the Hawaiian sun. She will be coming home for a few days for my son's birthday. It's a surprise. =) She's flying in Friday morning and will have to go back Monday (May 13th - 16th). I'll take it. I love the fact that she's surprising her brother. We may have him get out of class early on Friday. Like have her go in with some balloons or something. Other than that, nothing exciting is happening. Still looking for a job. Blah! Making SLOW progress on the tiling the bathroom. I have to hand grind each piece now (1/4 inch tiles). Blah! But, the exercising is going well. I think I'm starting to notice some muscle tone. The scale still sucks ass, but I'm telling myself that muscles weights more than fat so THAT must be what's going on. Lol...

Oh, you all probably want to start mentioning that Mother's Day is on the 8th to your family. I've already started with my husband. I keep saying, "Remind me to send my Mother's Day cards to my mom next week". Subtle, I know. =)

Well, I'm just tapped out of babble today. Maybe someone else is feeling the gift for gab.

Have a great day and hope you are all recovering nicely from your Easter celebrations. =) RSL...
