So..update from me..im doing well. Ill get my first paycheck next friday. No letters from G yet. His bestfriend is doing a terrible job at making me feel better my saying he and G's family has it way worse. I spent 4 months day in and day out with that boy and im not exaggerating. We spent everyday together. And that's more than his bestfriend has spent with him since they've been friends...since october! He threw a fit cause G wanted to spend a night just himand I saying he's taking his girlfriend over friends..he doesn't realize I lost not only my best friend, but my boyfriend. My first love.

hey hurley....we're doing ok since the tornados hit.  we went out a couple of weeks ago to pickup debris out of the wheat field....ugh!  all kinds of stuff out there.  anyhow, i hope that the storm season is over here.  may seems to be the worst.   so i wonder if there are any wild women in that group?  you know.... the kind that make up songs and say they're gonna stay at the ramada and then change their plans!  hee hee!  that's so funny that we did that! 

mary, glad you confirmed what i was told.  i don't think my son wants to hit marine bootcamp on top of navy bootcamp.  just not his deal i guess.  there are so many other things to do in the navy and it's not a life sentence.  they can always get out after serving and get their degrees in whatever.... that's how i see it.  

i can see haley's draw to it to though.... it would be very exciting and you would get to go to places you've never seen.  and yes, they do have to make those decisions on their own...just like joining the navy in the first place.  i hope it works out for haley.  if it does, it will be great!  we'll just have to do alot of praying for her safety!  :)

and yes, the flowers are beautiful.... but i think "flower" the skunk is the cutest thing i've seen in a while!

nicole, i'm soooo excited for you!   the end of july will be here before you know it!   do you still talk to claire?   i haven't heard from her in ages!  just wondering if she was still seeing her navy guy.....

hurley - Thanks for the compliments. I do love my flowers and I guess it shows in my photos. I'll seriously consider your suggestion. =) And Lord no that's not my lawn. I've been carefully cultivating my dandelion patch formerly known as my lawn. Lol.. after a year of neglect, my yard is a nightmare. It's very over whelming and I'm making small improvements, but the love isn't there anymore. =( If I could just land a job, I could hire a yard service to get it under control and keep it up. Since that isn't happening, I go visit other people's pretty yards. Lol....

 

Dyl's Mom - Yeah I know about the whole traveling with the Marines. She still wants to do it and I think the whole front line thing is part of her motivation. Won't be bad enough that my son is going into the Marines, but now my daughter want's to join him. Eeeeekkk! There won't be a colored hair left on my head. All I can do now is vote for Ron Paul and hope we get out of these wars. He's the only one I believe will actually withdraw our troops. The man is a rock in his beliefs and congress hates him cause he stands by his principles. That's good enough for me. Anyhow, sorry, politics, but what else can I do. I have raised my kids to live there own life. Quality over quantity. I sure as hell hope they have both.

Nicole - hopefully that is just about done and you can take a breather. Miss you here. =)

 

Mary - Lol... your son and his food orders. Makes ya smile. Sounds like he is almost as excited to come home as you are to have him. That's so awesome. 

 

Well today is my clear liquid day. Yesterday's diet was icky. No fiber. When you are used to fiber, not eating it is just wrong. But that is done and now I just have to get through today.

I haven't had much time to read/write..sooo busy at work/school. Ill be back soon I promise. G graduates 7/29 he's a push div I think. :) I wont argue with that! Im going out Saturday to go make grad plans with mom( she calls me her FAIL-future daughter in law) lol. I take that as she likes me? She insists I call her mom. Lol:)

Shelly, your too funny, oh I forgot to ask you, how is your family holding up after all the tornados? Was thinking about all that recently. I've been tempted to do the same, go back and lurk, but I haven't. You need to teach them how to break their sailors out! See what the RDCs will think of that!

Hey Mary, just make sure the stove is all warmed up for him! Just make sure he doesn't buy an extra seat on the plane, chain that sucker to the wall!

p.s.  i can't believe it's almost been a year since bc!  so for kicks i went stalking into the newly formed "leaving in July for BC" group.  bad idea.... made me want to cry all over again!   i might go in at some point and give those poor mom's some uplifting words.  i really think that would be a great job for aj.....   don't you think?  :)

Hey all!  just read the fb stuff so maybe i'm up to date?  

Iris, let me know how the corpsman thing works out for haley.  my youngest (16) was thinking about going in for that but not so sure i want him doing that.  I spoke with maureen (you remember her from this group)?   her son went in for corpsman and she was telling me that the corpsman have to travel with the marines for awhile at some point.  that really bothered me knowing that my kid might have to travel with these groups that are under fire.  maybe i'm just a worry wort but you might have her check it out just in case.  let me know what you find out.  if it's encouraging, i might have another talk with my kiddo. 

love the derby pics!  it really looks like a lot of fun!  go get em girl!

Aw AJ, you've been through so much. Not fair. I don't know how you have the strength. As for the food allergies I believe it could affect someone who doesn't eat certain foods and then does. I'm very sensitive to certain foods and get very ill. Oh, are you getting that weather from that hurricane? Just saw it's hanging out over that way. Hate hurrican season. My hubby started up the generator to make sure it's running and tomorrow getting all the shutters down.

Donna, I hope A is feeling better. No fun for her...

Ok, so I guess I learned my lesson and will post in smaller paragraphs. Iris, your photos are so beautiful! You really should do some up and frame them and arrange them in a grouping. Is that your yard? Wow, so manicured and green! I'm so happy about H and her decision to be a nurse. Donna can give her some tips. I was in a nursing course while in HS and was all set to go in the Army but my parents freaked out so I got married at 18. I told them! Anyway, god bless our nurses. Such a dedicated career.

Ok Mary, so happy D gets to come home and work on the house! Sounds like he'll love that. Make sure you do your roof on the hottest day! You all must be so excited, plan a big party for him. Put up a sign " No clothes, No service" ! Oh and I always wore pretty panties, even though I still fight over the free panty coupon from VS with my DILs.
