OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance. Please take the time
to read the OPSEC and Community Guidelines. A quick note here: Last Names of Sailors/Recruits are not allowed on this site. If it is in your username you will need to change your username. If yours is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Ladies-congrats to all of your new sailors.

Thank you all for all of the prayers. As I sit here reading of all the prayers going out for my daughter I am crying, and crying. It means more than you will ever know!

Safe travel for those leaving today!

Comment by diannep on September 12, 2012 at 8:07am

Quay:  They don't call in the mornings unless you live on the West coast, in which case your call could come in shortly before noon.  The time that ProudNavyMom recieved hers (around 2 pm GL time) is the time the calls normally start but they can go for a long time and sometimes they start later, very rarely earlier.

Hoping that calls from 295-298 come in today...although there were questions about 297/298's date!  Phones ready!

lindagr41 & Quay,

We received our "I'm a Sailor" call at 1:57 GL time. Talked for 40 minutes. We heard other calls in the background, so they can be that early.

See y'all tomorrow at M & G!!

Lord our Lord! We pray this morning for our kids, those babies we he'll and naurtured, those children we helped with homework, those teens we got fed up with, those men and woman who are making their way. We pray for strength, for wisdom, for comfort, for safety. May you carry them, uphold them, RUN with them! Lord and for their mommas and daddies and wives, and sisters, brothers, children, grandparents. Lord for all of their loved ones. We ask the same strength, wisdom, comfort and safety. ! In your precious name, amen.
