Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Ok, ladies, now it is time for you to grade us on how we did helping you through Bootcamp. Did we give appropriate info re: PIR, etc? Have there been changes we are not aware of? We want to be accurate in our info with future PIR groups so please verify what we told you or give us new info/corrections! Were any extras allowed on RTC for PIR viewing on the Livestream in the Chapel? Just share with us so we can keep our info up to date! Thanks so much and congrats to your sailors!

girl64: Prayers for him AND for you. I will pray that you will open your heart to the Lord.....He loves you....no matter what you feel about Him. He is just waiting for you to reach out to him....He is there. So please pray---which is just talking with our Heavenly Father! You are worthy because you are His child---He loves us unconditionally.....although we all love praying for others and will pray for your sailor and you, I hope you will be praying too.....I will lift both of you in my prayers. God is GOOD!
Adjustment is hard for these sailors.....but they will get there. Would your sailor be willing to go talk to the Chaplain? What is said there is kept in confidence unless the Chaplain feels that he could hurt himself or others. It might help him to do this.
In the meantime....lots of prayers for you both.

My son is not adjusting well to the new barracks and his own personal life. He's made some weird decisions. Could someone that is close with god please pray for him as I am not. Please help him.

Amen to that!!! It is quite the blessing to have the ability and freedom to communicate more frequently now!!! My sailor is my youngest so I'm also entering into the empty-nest season of life! That adds a whole new dimension to this experience:-).

Yes, I heard the same thing during PIR. Mine is Diver so we didn't hear that about ours. Although I heard they were only accepting 15 to move forward.
