Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Hi Friends!
"The Lord Almighty is with us,
the God of Jacob is our fortress."
Psalm 46:11
Good Morning...AGAIN!
Greetings All!
"But now, Lord, what do I look for?
My hope is in You."
Good Morning Everyone!
Craig,
What a heartfelt reminder. I'm very sad that Robin Williams passed the way he did. He was soooo talented!
To Robin Williams, may you Rest In Peace
People can accept seeing a person with physical disabilities, but it is so hard for them to accept mental disabilities, because they can't see the problem. However both are on the same level. Physical and Mental weigh the same.
Individuals with depression can hide it, fake it, and keep it to themselves. This makes it difficult for loved ones to recognize the symptoms and get the individual the professional help that they need.
This man had made so many people laugh, but yet he was not laughing within himself. He was hurting. He was in pain.
I know a lot of you are missing your sailors. Please take a moment and talk to someone, whether it's here in our group, or where ever you find the most comfort. Maybe others in your family are depressed. With Robin Williams passing, this is a great opportunity to find out how everyone is doing and to talk about things.
Please, please, take a moment to check not only yourself, but others in your family.
ellisnavymom: Most of those flying out will fly out on Sat., the day after PIR. Some may not leave until Sunday though. It is best for you to try and stay until Sunday for that reason. Doubtful that they won't fly out until Monday, although never say never. The Navy doesn't care too much about the family plans, only about your SR. So sadly, not much you can do. Your SR won't know flight arrangements until right before PIR. You can go ahead and make yours, but I suggest you try Southwest Airlines into either Milwaukee (45 min to GL, no traffic, usually cheaper car rental) or Chicago-Midway (hour+ to GL depending on traffic). No change fee if your SR is delayed in training, 2 bags check for free. There is no penalty in booking a hotel now if you have to change/cancel as long as you book directly with the hotel. The travel discount sites may have rules for changes/cancellations.
