Do most of you plan on staying in GL Saturday night, or are you leaving Sat? Is there ever liberty on Sunday like with AF? I just need to figure out travel plans. Thanks.
Basically if they are attending A school somewhere other than TSC GL...they have PIR day with you for Liberty. They may leave directly after PIR ...Usually...some MAY get stuck with watch at some point :-( , not as common but does happen...they are still "attached" to RTC until they leave the next day. Sometimes they will get Saturday as well and fly out on Sunday (Read my personal story on the PAGE post)...this depends on flight availability...but for the most part those departing for their A schools do leave on Saturday. The PAGE will explain more in detail.
Those staying at TSC GL for A school have a short time directly after PIR with you and then must go check into their new command...this will take 3-5 hours. Make sure they have their phone card so they can call you to come and get them...I think ellen had a another great tip for this too. Then they will have the weekend for Liberty. I can never remember how early each day...ellen will know :-)...but report back time is usually 22:00 hours (10 PM). No overnight Liberty.
One thing about return time for Liberty...on time...is late..so follow your recruits lead on when they want to return and allow ample time for walking.
We can address more questions about this as we go along...and ellen will have some great info as her son is at GL!
Honorary Mom - Here is a link to a PAGE about Liberty after PIR.
RuthY - Sorry...busy day! They will most likely ask for a couple of more names , along with the persons phone number and address. My son asked for two more and I had to give it right then over the phone...sometimes they ask you to fax it I hear.
Rescue Swimmers (AIRR) will most likely have a Secret Clearance requirement. The security clearance levels are, Confidential, Secret and Top Secret.
What if anything do you know about weekend schedule/liberty if they are going to Conn?
Welcome, Rachel!
Only8Weeks: Wow, that is strange. Maybe RTC personnel were mistaken and it is on its way to you, just delayed. I think even FedEx goes by zip codes, so if that was correct on the box, seems that it eventually will arrive. Fingers crossed!
SubDad: I know that the guys on NavyDads would be forever grateful if you can generate more activity on their site.....hopefully when they realize that you will be full of info (from US! :-) ), they will start asking questions! Just bring those questions to us...and we will try to give you an answer for them! :-)
Thanks Sub_Dad :/
