N4M's Community Guidelines and OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

bhbqxe,

I've never heard of a place where an SR's travel arrangements can be looked up.  Those arrangements aren't made until after an SR passes Battlestations.  Most leave early Saturday morning if they are flying out. The ones who have A school in Great Lakes will have liberty the whole weekend with their families.  We advise to make arrangements to stay through Sunday, flying out on Monday in case your SR is one of the lucky few to fly out Sunday if the flights for Saturday are full.

Do you know where your SR will be going to A school?

How do we know actual rate? Is it on the letter?

Can one of the group leaders help me please?  I was told on one of the groups on this site from a veteran mom, I can't recall where, that you can look up PIR and see when your SR will be leaving.  My son will fly out to SC for Nuclear after PIR.  I thought I was told Saturday but I just read on the Facebook page for our PIR 10-25 group that it could be the next day or even 2 days later and there is no way to know until my son receives his travel arrangements days before graduation.  I'm so upset that I have no idea how long to stay or make travel arrangements.  Thank you for any help!

Swansont- Yay! I'm glad you got your info!  My son is Ship 13, Div 403, but 403 and 404 are brother divisions and train together! :)

bhbqxe- thanks for the link to the FB page....didn't know about that! :)

Welcome, salzarulosmom!  We are all here for the same thing, and for friendship, support, etc, there is no better place to be.

I am on Cape Cod, so quite close.  MIssing my daughter, too.

What Ship and Div is Michael in?  Do you have plans to make it to PIR?
