N4M's Community Guidelines and OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

When did you get the letter?

Happy Saturday all.  Thought I posted here last night, either I didn't add comment or it was deleted, though I can't imagine why.  Anywho, hello!  My daughter is in Division 399.  She will head to San Antonio for Corpsman school after PIR.  Our hotel is booked and we can't wait to see her.  Staying at the Navy Gateway Inn.  Looking forward to getting to know you all.

I wish there was a way to find out my sons division before the letter. That would be helpful.

Division 399 appears to be the first division for this TG. Division numbers 389-398 and 949 are in the 10/18 group.

.....we are from Cali. My son I believe is an OS. His recruiter gave me two different job descriptions. Anyone in the same boat?

I am excited too. I think this my group. I also joined for the 10/18 but they have already received their letters. Still waiting for mine. My sons SR was going to send his box to his father. I asked him to tell me if he received but but haven't heard yet. I am sure he received it. Hoping letter comes this week.

NewbieNavyMom, It is possible that your son could be in the group before. It happens when divisions are waiting to be filled. Do you have his division number? That would be the tell all for confirmation.

Hi all! My son left on 8/23 but was told by his recuiter his PIR would be 10/18 so I joined that group but after seeing their posts most of them left a week or more before my son, and seeing your posts with most of them leaving the 20-22 I think his PIR will be 10/25, so here I am! Got his box Friday(yesterday) and awaiting the letter for his ship/div.  Looking foward to chatting and supporting each other! BTW we are in FL and his rate is AV so will be going to Pensacola for A school.
