OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

LadyGoogle - go to your FB page and click on messages.  Under messages there is "other messages" (not from people you are friends with).  You will have a message in their that allows you to join the group!

Hello, About a week ago, someone mentioned that there was a facebook page for PIR 11/08. I found it, requested to join, and, nothing. I've checked back daily, and my request has been pending since then. Although, I did just now cancel the request and then promptly renewed my request in hopes of alerting the moderator. Any suggestions as to how to join this group?

Thanks Lady Goggle

Nancy, the DIV pics were in the package with my Sailors pics. Not sure if they had to purchase those or if everyone got one. You could try calling the photo lab at the next on RTC base and ask them about that.

Happy Halloween Navy Family :) I hope you all have a wonderful day and hand out lots of candy. I am betting if any little sailors show up at your door they will get an extra handful :) I thought I would share a pic of my Sailor and grand baby. For her first Halloween is is the prettiest little Minion I have ever seen <3

Good Morning!

Expect I'm a Sailor calls this afternoon from 421/422!  They can start as early as 2 pm Central time, but many times come later than that.  Keep that phone close!   Please post when you hear from your new sailor so others who may not hear from their sailors right away (they may have "watch") will know how their division did.

kirty89,

Yep, next week will be here before you know it!!  Don't forget to bring a change of comfy clothes for your Sailor to relax in your hotel room.  They most appreciate having some of their own comfy underwear for you to put into their black Navy issued backpack, along with their electronics at the airport when you meet them to see them off to A school too~~

Torie72, if you mean the rules about holding hands and stuff like that then no, it doesn't apply when they are in civilian clothes. But PIR weekend they must remain in uniform. Some do put on something comfy while in the hotel room but they can't even go out in the hall way without being in uniform.
