Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

CShells:  You can buy them after PIR on the base ....or....order them online starting Monday after PIR.  If you need to know how long you would be able to order them, click on the link that HeyMa posted below and scroll to the bottom.  There is a "contact" prompt at the bottom where you can contact someone to find out.

Good Morning All !

This site has TRULY been a blessing!!  My Sailor also enjoyed taking a hot shower ALONE and just climbing into a comfy bed and relaxing for the afternoon!

It is really nice that I can receive/send texts to him now.  I feel a little more connected.

Glad we could help, NanVM!  My son too LOVED his "alone" long hot shower in the hotel room....I was very uninformed back then and took no civilian clothes for him, so he got right back into his uniform.

Hope all had a great weekend, and hope those in GL A School are still enjoying visits with their families for the holiday tomorrow!

I agree--thanks for all the info and support on this site! CatMom509, I really appreciated the encouraging words from God everyday! And diannep--it was so helpful to arrive at PIR somewhat informed! Helped things go smoothly! My SAILOR!! (no longer SR) appreciated the long hot shower at the hotel and being able to climb into her comfy sweats (from home) and take a nap. Great advice!! :) Bless you all!!
