~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Good Morning! Passing along this rental car info from someone in the 11/15 PIR group:
Comment by Cynthiajb 7 hours ago
Dollar has a compact for $14.60 a day on the city special rate. I splurged on a mid-size for $15.80, total $125 for four days.

Promo code: 875 Rate code: RWXE3
I have it from Thursday to Monday out of O'Hare.
Thank you, this helps
I agree with ellen, steviesmama. You can get some good deals on car rentals...your friend probably thinks you are staying in Chicago? Not as easy to get around in GL unless using taxis which all add up. We rented a car when up there...no regrets!
steviesmama, For "running around" with your SAILOR a rental car is much easier and more convenient, taxi fares can add up quickly. If you are going into Chicago with your SAILOR (I love that word) taking the Metra is the easiest and the cheapest.
I feel like I ask to many questions, but I always need help. So I am trying to find a room for my daughter and I. I think we found one. But I was been told by a friend I work with that I don't need to rent a car. I can use public transportation. Someone else told me that I do need a car. We are coming in from Idaho and I never been to the Chicago area before. I am so confused. Any suggestions
Recommended by ladies on this site:
Navy Lodge
Residence Inn (we stayed there, very nice)
Springhill Suites
Courtyard Inn
Holiday Inn Express
The last 4 are in Waukegan about 4-5 miles from RTC (10 min drive). Navy Lodge is about a mile away. These are close to Sarge's MeetandGreet.
Be sure to ask for the Navy Grad rate. At Navy Lodge, book in your SR's name.
Has anyone heard about any of the hotels which ones are good, not so good, bad, etc.
