N4M's Community Guidelines and OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

To see a little video on the historical significance of Challenge Coins, go to www.pirgifts.com and click on any of the coins Craig, one of the veteran dads here, has available.  There are Challenge Coins specifically connected to Recruit Training Command (RTC) Boot Camp ships designed by Craig.  When you receive your Form Letter from your SR, his ship no. is the coin you will choose to give to your SR when he graduates Boot Camp.  The corresponding ship name will be next to the number and when the Discussion groups are posted by ellen0502 soon, you will see the name with the number too.

I gave Ship 03, USS Hopper, to my Sailor daughter after PIR and she thought it was "cool!"

Another coin I would suggest is the Core Values coin (Honor, Courage, Commitment) in the 70 coins section of www.pirgifts.com.  It has sharp looking cut-outs and a diamond cut beveled edge!

momofboys & waukeemomma,

Philippians 4:13 is definitely a key verse in my life too.  The Lord is my rock!!

P129:  Here is the website for the challenge coins:  www.pirgifts.com

Yes, many like to order these for their SRs/sailors.  CatMom may have more info on the challenge coins!

Got the box yesterday and our letter today. Our son is Ship 13 Div 018. with a PIR of 11/22. We also just made reservations at the Navy Lodge for the 21st thru the 26th. Missing him so much but now with a date it seems within reach.

Just got my letter, PIR is 11/22. Is there anyone here know if challenge coins are really important/ used? If so where can I get one. For his ship at BC? Is there another coin that would be good to get him!

CalMom509 that verse is so significant in my world.  That chapter was read at Mass the day my brother passes away and then the week before Lance left for BC, I woke up every morning at 4:18 (last verse of that chapter) except one and I woke up at 4:13.  Note that I next to NEVER wake up in the middle of the night.  I corner tabbed that page in the Bible the Chaplin at MEPS gave him and wrote in inside the cover!!!   Thank you for reminding us to center each day!!

My son graduates on 11/22! This site has helped me feel better about the whole experience as it has been so hard! Thank you! I love the Philippians quote!
