N4M's Community Guidelines and OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Hi Mom's !  My son graduates this Thurs. !!  His duty station is not far from where he is at now.  He will be going to Stennis Space Center to focus on Oceanography.  He doesn't like the heat down south but is excited for the studies.  He's so glad he didn't end up on a ship.  His barracks is actually in Gulfport and they will shuttle them over to Slidell which is about 45 mins.  That's a long commute if you ask me.

Hope all are doing well !

My daughter got her orders last night.  She graduates 4-10-14.  Going to Guam.  Her first choice. Anyone know if there is a N4m for Guam moms?

So glad to hear you son has classed up 808islandMom ! My son is in Biloxi MS and actually classed up soon after he arrived.  He is graduating mid March.  So far he is in line to graduate top of his class !  That was his plan and he's a smart kid so I'm not surprised.  He is an AG (aerographer's mate  i.e. meteorology & oceanography.)  I hate to admit but sometimes I forget about coming on N4M's.  I stay connected on FB but it's not the same as this site. I'm glad to see others are still posting.  I think of our BC time and the support I received just reading all the posts on here.  Everyone was a Godsend.  Hope you are all doing well and especially your sailors.  Keep the updates coming !

A note to 808IslandMom...did you have a basket from Hawaii at the Meet & Greet?  We won a basket from there and the coffee in there is wonderful !!!

It is a vanilla blend and it's my favorite.  There were two bags and I'm just now finishing up the second bag.  Love it !

Aloha Ladies! Hope all is well! My son has finally classed up! He said that his classes is about 6 weeks, because his job is more Hands on learning then in the classroom. He has about 6 other sailors that he went to BC with that is in his barracks! They help out each other which is great! Brotherhood! He said that they watch out for each other because there are some that don't follow the rules. I guess those need more time to grow up! I will pray extra hard for these kids and hope they see the light! Keeping you all in my prayers and wishing for lots of blessings and safe guidance for all our Sailors! God Bless!!! (((((HUGS)))))

Good morning Navy Moms! I have not check this site in quite some time. Glad to see all are doing well. My sailor is still on hold for AME in Pensacola. She is doing great and making the best of it. Yes they are coming down on them over there right now, but it is what it is because some cannot abide by the rules. She did surprise us and came home at Christmas. So proud of her and how she has grown from this experience. Hope everyone and their sailor's are well.  ((NMH))

Hello, Hope everyone is doing great. My son is still in the Great Lakes. Right now he is in ATT school but will also be going to A school there. He is a FC. He is enjoying it even with the weather. We are planning a trip back there (during nice weather) to visit since he will probably be there until the end of the year. I would like to say Thank you to you all. This page helped me get thru my baby leaving and the start of our empty nest life. I love checking into see how everyone is doing and what our sailors are up to. Hope you guys are checking in on the PIR 11/22/13 Alumni facebook page. Keep in touch. God Bless you and Have a great day.

Hi everyone!! I hope you and yours are doing well!!! :) My son is at Goose Creek, SC and loves it there! (I can't blame him.. as it is A LOT warmer than here in NY! lol) He has had about 3 weeks of A School and is doing great! A friend in the chat told me when our SR's first went to boot camp, that proud feeling never goes away and wow do I know what she means! My son made a lot of lifelong friends at BC and so did I here! Keep in touch! I'd love to hear how everyone is doing as we go along this journey! Love my Navy Family!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hugs to all of you, your families and Sailors!
