shipmommie  I agree.  My husband siad I was addicted to N4Ms..maybe so but I know I'm addicted to my SR son.

Elizabeth I think your SR will have the sunny beaming from his eys looking for you.

Oh so hoped for a pic of the band....will in person will be better than a pic.

Sandy's sailor thanks for the info.  I want worry about missing the bus if we are not ready.  I will wave a taxi down.

I am right there with you Shismommie.  This sight has been great to go to, thank you everyone.

Good luck to Div 935 tomorrow.

There are pics from 7/08 grad posted on FB @ USRTC, some great shots of performing groups just not band.

Received what my SR said was going to be my last letter. I'm full of mixed emotions. Friday can't get here soon enough. Good luck tomorrow night Div 935.

And a big thank you to all on this site. Not sure where I would have gotten all of my questions answered if it was not got you.

Christy my SR also said he has lost a lot of weight, at least we don't have as many SR's to decipher through to see them, the sax's will give them away.  I'm not sure but there eyes may make a sweep around to look for there family's, I hope the twinkle is still in my SR's eyes.

Christy, our hotel had a Shuttle service but we ended up just taking a Taxi. It was handy because he gave us his business card and we called him after PIR to pick us up. There was a huge fleet of Taxis waiting by the gates at GL.

navymommo...thanks.  my SR says he doesn't care what we do just getting to see us counts.  May just relax and eat his favorite meal... steak  and do a lot of hugs and talking.  Navy Pier is a good idea thanks.  Glad buses do not get in line.  Taking the shuttle from the hotel...even though it is less than a mile from the base.  Guess if we miss the bus gong back we could walk.  SR has to put his sax away before he can leave.

elizabeth look for the lady that is playing musical chairs to find the best seat...lol Sax players should be easy to spot even though my SR said I would not recoginze him.  I think that is from all the wt he has lost..mid way he had lost 7 more pounds...I am sure he has lost some more but there will be muscle there even though he said you can't see a 6 pac...lol

I am so excited and envious of you guys!!  I can't wait until my daughter graduates on 7/29!  I would appreciate anyone who could snap a picture of her.  She will be carrying the RTC flag in the color guard.

Let me thank you in advance for all your help and for the sacrifice of your

SR,  I hope you have a wonderful weekend,

Karen

Down to three days,  leaving CA early Wednesday evening.

Christy, I haven't received anymore letters, I have to guess he is feeling better.  He wrote his little sister and his X-girlfriend, neither one of them said he mentioned anything about how his health is.  I saw another post by you about your son wanting Steak, that is exactly what my son wants also,LOL.  I just don't know if we should just stay close to the hotel or if he will want to go into the city;  I think we might have an advantage of recognizing our sons at PIR.

Lala- Have a marvelous honeymoon in the keys.  Enjoy a piece of key-lime pie for me.  Thanks for all your info through these long eight weeks and for the great ribbons.

diannep, thank you for sharing all your wise wisdom along this journey.  I am on a hunt for some binoculars since ours are in storage somewhere.  I do have the zoom on the camera, using my SR's since his is better then mine, hope he doesn't mind since he doesn't like anyone using his camera equipment.

Navymommo- thank you for taking the time to share your experience at your PIR last week.  Congratulations to you and your Sailor.

hopenfaith- We drove in on our own so that we had some freedom and our sailor was worried about train and bus schedules.  He spread out on a white towel in the back of the car and was so happy to sit and talk on the way to Chicago- about 1 hour- with GPS which avoided traffic.  We dumped the car in a garage and walked the rest of the time we were there- I have blisters- sneakers would have helped. He wanted to walk lots because he know he would be sitting and flying  the next day. Navy Pier was really beautiful- take a camera- there is a large anchor out at the end with with the lake in the background- It's a great photo-op!  We also wanted the freedom of leaving and going back early- we were back by 5:30 and he had liberty till 8. He went to our hotel and relaxed- Great fun!!

Christy- The band was mostly in the middle and also to the right if you are looking at the screen, though they performed at both ends.  I'm not sure where the best vantage point would be.  Busses, shuttles, vans and taxis  bypassed the carline.
