Hi everyone. PIR July 1 here too. We got the box last week. I called the recruiter last week asking for his address. He called back this morning and gave it to me so I got a letter out asap. Then of course the form letter shows up this afternoon! I guess tonight I need to work on getting plane tickets and a hotel room.

sobomom - how do you manage to get information from a recruiter? My sons recruiter does not answer the phone or return my calls. And I have never asked them the first question so it's not like they are tired of hearing from me....

Anyone's son or daughter on SHIP 3 DIV 233 ? It sounds like I have to change PIR plans by a day. I'm lucky because we're right in the Chicago area and can drive to Great Lakes with little problem. I can see where this could present a problem with people traveling far. The number of miles don't matter....still miss him. We don't know if he can come home for the weekend yet.

Hi Soboman,
No I still have not received "the box". Called my recruiter on Friday and spoke to him about it. He told me he would call me back....he never does so I will follow up again on Monday....He left May 5th and everyone who left that day have already received there box....

Thanks for this discussion group and all the info. It helps me to feel like I am somehow closer. I too can't wait, can't wait, can't wait for soo many things. Just to hear his voice will be priceless! And to HUG him again!! We will be booking our hotel this weekend too. Haven't decided to drive or fly yet. Watching those rates for now. We are in NC and the drive would be approx 12 hrs. not thrilled about that, would really rather fly, but hubby's not so sure about that.. :) Thanks again for this opportunity to feel "connected". There is sooo much i want to know.
