FIRST TIME HERE?

FOLLOW THESE STEPS TO GET STARTED:

Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Unfortunately, it didn't work out to be able to see him down in SD. But he'll be home on leave soon. I can't wait!!

Hey Joni and Michele - WELCOME! This is a great group. You will learn LOTS. There is also a Bangor group. Check them out. Our sailor has been in WA for five years now (all sub service) just finishing. Ask you questions, and folks are awesome. I have lots and I knew next to nada - learned most of it right here! Happy Easter eveyrbody - what a glorious season. We had snow yesterday - just the powdered sugar stuff. ~s

Snow AGAIN!!! Come on spring! I was looking for tulips when I drove to Whidbey this weekend... Did not see a one! Even at Pike Place market they are few of them displayed...

OUrs has just recently completed four years of sub service and is now on shore duty. He and his family live on the base at Bangor. Compared to some, he is close to home - we have been blessed to see him once a year - some years twice. We are always very greatful when we hear from him -he is so very busy. Joni, you will learn a lot here. Questions are always welcome. My experience has been a testiment to that. What does you sailor do?~s

Whew - looks like you had a GREAT visit! I was thinking of all of you. Hi Joni: I would suggest you check out what is happening with Elle - our site guru (manager - she has an official title). It could be comething that she can 'fix' for you. I'm glad you are here. My sailor son is staitoned in WA - we live in ne CA. This is a great site, and will help you tons if you get chance to visit - but also with what is happening there. Awesome folks.
