Dee,
Yes, what a happy day for you!!!!! I just came across my daughter's letters from BC from back in July and read them all over again. Brought back all those feelings of the joy and sadness when I first got those all important letters.
The time goes fast - especially for them - PIR will be here before you know it!!
God Bless You! Anna

Hi everyone - I usually jut read what's going on as I am a former ombudsman and mother of two active sailors, but the comments about doing more for other sailors reminded that there were some websites that you might not be aware of.

For all of you moms who wish they could do more for other mililtary servicemen and women the following website gives some great opportunities. http://soldiersangels.org - check it out - they have some great programs, ideas, groups for anyone or any group that wants be supportive to our troops and sailors,

This is another site - https://www.woundedwarriorproject.org - hits home when one of our own is wounded or sick. Again another very supportive site for anyone who wants to support our service members

Diane,
I concur with Susan's comments. To be a good caregiver you need to be there!!! So you have to take care of yourself also. I, too, do not have health coverage anymore and had a constant pain in my left side. I had to go to the doctors and had to have a cat scan. The good thing is if they know you don't have insurance sometimes they will give you a discount. They also sent me to a place that does cat scans for one flat rate that included the reading and everything. Check into that and get the test done before things get worse. Take care of yourself. I'm keeping you in my prayers for a speedy recovery and healing!

Diane: You are in my prayers. Be careful with yourself. We women don't do well at taking care of ourselves (I'm speaking from personal experience); but we do an AWESOME job for others. Give to yourself all that you give to others - ask those questions for yourself - and get the answers. Don't let it slide - you have my prayers and support for quick easy complete healing, answers to every concern and question. Hugs and blessings~s

Susan.
I am so glad that the tests for your husband went well - please keep us updated. I'm also glad the surgery went well for little Brianna. I'm sure it's tough for you not being there with them. But please let them know she is still in my prayers for a complete and speedy recovery.

Wow, I've missed a lot. I'll have to make time to catch up. What a great time with the sailor's. Thank you for sharring. It makes a huge connection for me when I can't be there.
I just wanted to drop a note of THANKS to all of you! The four hours stress test went well for my husband (Dan). We will know the results of the pictures of his heart in a few days. My angel blessings to each of you~s
Thank you for asking about Brianna. As far as we know she is recovering. Very scary for us especially when we can't be there to try to be of help. However, it is very reassuring that they have a 'strong group of friends' for support (the ombudsman told me this in an e-mail). We won't bother them with calling or e-mail to respect our dil's request; and also to give them all the chance to relax, rest and recourperate when they can. Our sailor is still deployed, so I am sure this is very hard on our dil.
Owen's trip on the USS Hornet with the Scouts was AWESOME! Great for Pa and him to do. ~s
