Hi moms! We have spent the last week visiting our son and his family on Coronado in the San Diego area. It has been such fun having him back on the west coast. He has less than a year left on these orders so they have begun the next phase of career planning and thinking about where they might be able to go next. He took us over to the hangar yesterday so we could see his office and sit in a helicopter. It a little crazy to see everything he is in command of, 250 people and 8 helos. We are flying back to Seattle today and home to Kitsap County. Tuesday we reorganize and then Wednesday we are off to the State Fire Commissioners Conference and Saturday on to Lake Chelan for some down time at our timeshare. Did I say how much I love being retired!

Thank you Ladies!! I zipped him your thoughts and he is looking for a Realtor today...;))He has thrived in the PNW since the day he arrived and I love that he wants to stay. Plus, I get to visit him and see how happy he is while we hike and enjoy all of it...;)))

Johanna-if he is looking for a condo, probably the Silverdale area would be his best bet. Bremerton is slowly undergoing a transformation but I don't think there would be a lot of choice. Bremerton is a fixer upper. Silverdale is the largest growing area. South would be Port Orchard, I'm not familiar with that area. We are north near Poulsbo. The northend (Poulsbo, Kingston, Hansville, Suquamish) is still predominantly single family dwelling. Bainbridge Island is expensive. He should contact a professional realtor in the area.

Hi Johanna, wish I could help you but not familiar with Bremerton....its far from where I am and across Puget Sound. ..BUT there are Bremerton area families here, so hopefully they'll add their suggestions and tips! ? ♥Glad your guy likes the Pac. NW!

Storymom, what a great visit!! My youngest Sailor has decided he would like to live in the Bremerton area, permenantly....;))) He is thriving in the PNW. Do you have any suggestions as to where he should look for a condo in that area? Even though we are on the East Coast I will be out there all the time hiking the Cascades and the Olympic mountain range with him...I'm so excited!!!

So glad the stars aligned for your tour group Storymom.  That's a lifetime memory for everyone, no doubt.  The contrast between the startlingly uniform and relatively recent growth visible now in the blast zone and the devastation I first witnessed arriving here in the early nineties is really remarkable.
