Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Comment by MichiganNavyMom-Ship 4/Div. 341 on August 24, 2011 at 4:10pm: Wonderful day!!! Got the letter today AND....my son had a five minute phone call. How I have no idea? I thought they had to be in week three before he could get another call. Since I was at work, he called his dad and was able to speak to his little sister and brother. Thank goodness!!! They miss him sooo much! I would rather they get to speak him because its harder for them to understand all of this. I haven't seen the letter yet as it went to his dad's house (guessing the address that he remembered...lol). He is gonna scan it to me this evening. He did write a few lines and said the only thing he has gotten yelled at is that he doesn't shave well enough. Lol...not surprised since the kid always had facial hair until now. Not a lot of experience. AND yes...we have to get together during PIR proud2baNavyMom. I would expect that our boys will be shipping out together for A school. So excited...adreneline running high. I get to mail letters tomorrow!!! Woo hoo....
