  Oh Lala I'm so very sorry.  That's horrible news!  My thoughts and prayers are most certainly with your daughter and her friend's family.

I have a special request. One of my Sailor/daughter's very close friends died today. Understandably she is having a very hard time with this so please keep her in your thoughts and prayers and please do the same for this young man, Austin and his family.  Thanks so much to all of my friends on this site. I appreciate all of you so much.

So, this is what I'm doing.  Air Tran to Milwaukee.  Total for 3 of us is $1360.  1st 2 bags are free and no fee to change.  Getting there on Wed early afternoon and leaving Sat night @ 7.  Sounds like alot but if I take the cheaper flight then I still have to pay for bags and change fee so it comes out to be pretty much the same after all is said and done.

Jimbo - Yes.  Unfortunately, if I stay the extra days I'll pay it in hotel fees....so it is a no win situation.

Lizzie's Mom: Kayak.com shows as low as $415 if you fly on tuesday and return on Monday. The weekend is what's jacking the prices.

I agree with you missync1 - leaving a 20 yr old in charge of anyone is worrisome....LOL.  I'm just staying the extra day hoping and praying they get to stay an extra day and if not then I'll just spend the day sightseeing.  I'll never be back in Chicago for any reason so I might as well make a mini vacation out of it.

I know I read one of the posts that suggest we return flight on Sunday, "in case" we can spend time.  But RTC says they will go to A-school on Friday, so I'm just going to have to bank on that.  I'm leaving my 20 year old in charge of his 14 year old twin brother and sister...which is worrisome enough for 3 days out of town!!!!

$220 pp if I go with the "economy" fare.  $270.90 pp if I go with the "classic fare" and with that the 1st 2 bags are free, you can pre-pick your seats, theres a $25 flight change fee (plus difference in fare) and you can change reservations w/o a fee (plus difference in fare).  With economy you don't get any of that.  I'm pretty sure I'm reading the rules correctly.  So obviously I'm going to go with the classic fare.  There's also a classic plus but I'm spending that much.
