diannep, I know they're probably not getting mail yet but I thought it would be ok to start sending them once I got the address.  I don't think I can wait....I'm dying here. LOL

Welcome, riffmodge!  Wow, it has been a while since there has been an 800 (spec ops) division in the PIR groups.  Now, 11/4 group has one and this one will too!

They are really hit or miss with the 800 groups, although most PIR groups have a 900 (performing) division.

Invisible.  They usually don't have a problem receiving the large envelope.  But are they receiving mail yet?  Have they been up there for 2 weeks yet?  Mail is not received for the first 2 weeks...held for them until the mail recruit petty officer is trained. You may want to wait a few more days before sending it.  But either way, shouldn't be a problem.

FTLW - ha ha ha...I didn't know you can chase the fairy!  I am pretty computer savvy and I did worry that I was taking up too much room, but she was so pretty so I had to put her up.

Now I have a question.  Do you think it's too soon to send my SR an oversized envelope to put his mail in?  I was going to put it inside the bigger envelope that I was mailing and also with his return address labels that I printed.  I don't want him to get into trouble by receiving a large (you know, a regular 10x13) envelope so soon.

I remember the best part of the kid in the box letter. My son scribbled "I can do this" My oldest filled him in on what to expect so I am sure that helped. FTLW he is a seabee too. Stationed for a year in Greece, The pictures are absolutely awesome.

Good morning, everyone!  Welcome to the new members...the group is growing, slowly but surely!

Invisible, sure hoping that you all get a full weekend with your sailors.  You just never know what the Navy will do, but you are wise to book out on Sunday evening...just in case!  If your sailor has to leave earlier   :-(   then you have sightseeing time!

Well how rude...I neglected to intruduce myself! Sorry!

My Sailor PIR'd May of this year. He just started BU school (in indoc) in the Seabee Community. I have been an AF reserve/law enforcement wife for 27/29 years. We have had two deployments in there...both after 9/11.

I am mostly involved with Boot Camp moms, DEP leaving for.. and the PIR groups.
