Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

She was struggling with homesickness but somehow managed through it. Only 1 more week. I sure can't wait to hug her! She mentioned in her last letter she earned a 15 min phone call so I will be waiting by the phone.

NavyWife....your little boy is just the cutest. I'm sure he can't wait to see his daddy! I'm excited to see everyone!

Comment by diannep on November 2, 2011 at 7:48am: NavyWife: They allow you to drive onto base when returing your sailor on PIR day. At least, they used to back in 2010 when mine PIRed. So you would need the gate pass then. Keep it handy!

You never know he may grow up to be a Sailor someday and then you can use this pic as your profile pic here on N4M's lol. Imagine what this will be like by then :-) I bet he is getting excited about seeing his daddy for sure.

I just printed our Gate Pass even though I'm pretty sure we are going to be taking the shuttle, but it is part of the whole experience. I know at this time next week I am going to be so excited to leave for GL the following morning that I probably won't get a wink of sleep. Wednesday night as well, for that matter!

We're almost at 7 days!!!!
