For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

NavyWife I googled and got this:
Recruit Medical Yeoman (MYN)
The MYN is responsible to RDCs for:
1. Assisting the RDCs in preparing and maintaining recruit medical documentation.
2. Coordinating appointments with the Medical Liaison.
3. Tracking the status of all special physicals.
4. Attending the medical/dental brief.

9 days!! Yippee!! I have faith that all of our SR's are going to be calling next to say, "I'm a Sailor" I sure can't wait for that call.
diannep- yes, my husband is in 369.
On another note - My husband told me his job is a Medical Yeoman. Can someone who knows more about this elaborate for me on his job description? He explained it to me some, but I am not to sure what exactly it is he does. I guess he forgot to "dumb it down" for me. LOL! He too said I would be surprised at his positioning at PIR but I'm not sure if it has to do w/the fact that he was appointed a job or if it's just coincidence?

Since you all are headed into BattleStations soon, you may not get calls before the "I'm a Sailor" call. Just go on the "no news is good news" theory...since they have to call you if they fail their 3rd PFA. That "I'm a Sailor" call is one of the best, so look forward to that one!
Remember, if you get the scripted call from your SR that he/she didn't pass the 3rd PFA, won't graduate, don't come...don't panic. It is motivation--they make them say that and it is a supervised call. They still have chances to pass it and most do before PIR. So keep travel plans in place and then join the FIT DIVISION group on here for support. But hoping that none get that call! Just the I'm a Sailor calls! HOOYAH!
