I think it is wonderful that Sarge is trying to get info for you...but I have to agree with navmomtera(thank you navmomtera)...my sons info changed two days before PIR as far as liberty...and I overheard the gentleman at the airport who was instructing the Sailors that flight times for about half the group had changed too. Half did not have boarding passes and it took much longer to get them processed in...did not get to go through with my Sailor to see him off...but did get to spend time with him while he was checking in.
Take the info you get from your Sailor and just be prepared for anything...then file it away and enjoy your time!

Hi Ladies!!  Just wanted to stop by and let the ladies with Div 369 and 370 know that I saw your SR's today!!  The were marching past us while we were waiting for our Sailor to join us for Liberty.  They looked great!!

Also, I haven't read much of your discussion but I did see where somebody was waiting on word from Sarge about possible flights for the SR's leaving for A-school - I just wanted to say that while Sarge is very helpful and does know quite a bit especially about the area, I would only rely on information you get from your SR.  He told us our Sailor would be flying out of Midway and he is leaving from O'Hare.  And just from our experience some of the information he has may have changed or maybe he just knows more about those staying in Great Lakes for A-school.  Just one example is he said they would have Liberty until 2100 and my Sailor had to be in his compartment (barracks) by 1915.  I am in no way trying to say anything bad about Sarge - he is a great guy - but I know that anxious feeling of getting ready for PIR and wanting all the information you can get your hands on, just be careful and confirm everything with your SR.  PIR is like nothing you have ever experienced before and I wish you all the best of luck and safe travels!!

I feel the same as all of you, I am praying for our daughters, sons, and husbands.  I pray their peace and blessings.  I pray that they are safe and free from injury.  They are at the home stretch.  My last communication from my daughter she had hurt her knee, I am trusting that God's healing power is with her.  I know she was very concerned about the final PFA.  She stated that she does not want to disappointment me, I told her I could never be disappointed in her, never.  My daughter is the surviving twin of my twin girls.  I told her that makes her extra loving and extra sweet.  She requested prayers for the young men and young women that have suffered injuries. I pray for all of them at least five times a day.

I am so proud of their accomplishments thus far, I am so excited to meet all of you. Big hugs to everyone!

I spoke with Sarge at 5:00 GL time.  As of that time he hadn't gotten confirmation whether they will depart Friday or Saturday.  It doesn't look very promising that we'll get the extra day.  Just add that to the list of things that ruined my day....no letters, no phone call...UGH hate this.  Sarge promised to call me as soon as he hears.  Keeping my fingers crossed and doing lots of praying.

I really am looking forward to the Meet & Greet,,,,11 MORE DAYS!!!!

Remember, by the 4th week of training, it is turning around for them.  That is about where your SRs are.  You will see more "positive" in their letters/calls and they are very much looking forward to BattleStations and becoming sailors.  They have learned alot by the 4th week of training and know they can do this!

I just added a questionnaire to the discussions above. You will want to check this one out. I made this one myself and sent it to my daughter and I have been sharing it with each PIR group for over a year now. It is funny and will make them laugh but more importantly it has a wonderful paragraph encouraging them for battlestations. Now is a great time to send it because they will get it and read it before they go through that final test. You can copy and paste it to word and then print it to send to your recruit. You can even send a could extra copies for them to share with their friends and they can send it to their own families. You may have to tweak it a little bit because my Sailor is a girl. I hope you all like it :-)

You are so right navybound, they are now over the hump and they can see the light at the end of the tunnel. The chief and RDC's are taking on a human form again and they are beginning to almost love it there lol. It won't be long now until you can finally see them walk through that huge door and you will have so much pride there will be no way to stop the tears from flowing. It is so amazing!!!!

I don't think we have to worry either!!! I'm just so ANXIOUS...lol!!! It can't come quick enough. I'm going to stay extra busy this weekend, and print our gate pass on Monday!! :D
