Thank you ladies for all the helpful information. The nerves are killing me, my stomach is in knots. I got a letter from my SR yesterday and he told me everything that they would be doing this week but Battlestation date was not mentioned. I was so bummed!!! No matter what, I will def be sure to NOT cancel my plans. That would be horrible to miss PIR!

I want to add to, that my son's Chief made him call me after failing the 2nd PFA. I think he did this to try and push my son into working harder to pass. It worked!!

Diannep, that is such a sad story. I feel so bad for that family. I have something to say about that too.

If your Sailor does not make it. You can still go to GL to visit them.

I know a mom whose son failed his Final PFA. He called and told his parents that he had a one more chance to pass and would let her know. They never got a phone call so they assumed that he had passed and would PIR. Well, they get to the PIR ceremony. Right in the middle of his PIR she got a call from PAO

The PAO officer told her that her son did not pass and was in the FIT program. This mom was devastated. She told the PAO that they were at her son's PIR and could they please go see him. The PAO officer said yes, but only for a few hours. The Office of POA felt bad and let them spend about 3 hours with their son. Five days later he passed his PFA and became a US Sailor. 

So as Dianne suggests. Don't cancel your ticket. Be open to what ever comes your way. .

Invisible12, If you did not hear from him then he has passed the second PFA. Usually the Chiefs will make them call home if they fail their second PFA.  The Final 3rd PFA is the last week of boot camp. At least this was the case in my son's division.

Dianne - thank you for that very helpful info.  That's so sad the sailor didn't have his family there.  I'd shoot myself. LOL. Do you know about when their final PFA would be?  My son failed his baseline, I don't know how he did on his 2nd and I know he was really concerned...especially about the run.
