For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

NavyWife&Mom1 - don't believe everything you read!!! It's not set in stone yet. Although they state that all Sailors are leaving on Friday morning, the reservations and tickets HAVE NOT been done yet. That will be done this Friday.
I'm "quoting" Sarge in saying this because that's what his "inside contacts" have told him.
While I'm not hopeful that we'll have an extra day with our Sailors, I refuse to give up hope yet. I will on Friday when Sarge tells me otherwise.
I will post the "official" confirmation on Friday as soon as I get it.

I just read on the facebook RTC page that they confirmed all sailors who are going to outside A schools are leaving on Friday morning.

NavyWife&Mom, I don't know how many more people Sarge is taking in for Thanksgiving but please call, email or text him. He will not mind at all to talk to you. I've never met him but just by talking to him I have to say that he's one in a million.
Betsy....Wow 1 year. It's great to see you've made it through..LOL. Congratulations and best of luck to your Sailor in his future travels!

Awww, now I wish I had met Sarge. He sounds like an awesome guy!
Good Afternoon Ladies, today is a milestone for my son. He shipped out for BC one year ago today! So, this time last year I was where you are now. I still can't believe that I have survived this year, lol. He will finish up with his training in November and then he is on his way to great adventures in the Navy!

Thats is really great invisible! How do they get to do that? My husband will be in great lakes for A school and thats would be great if he go there! I wont be able to make 2 trips there. Sarge seems like a really great guy!

diannep - thank you for explaining about Sarge. He really is such a great guy and he most definitely does have "contacts." The things he does for the local sailors and their families is just wonderful. He already has about 15 sailors coming to his house for Thanksgiving.
