Just got my third letter this week, wow, He said he passed his PST and was promoted and he was made the weapons PO so he was all happy about that.

We suggest you wear nice but casual clothes. Just remember your Sailors will be in their finest Dress Blues and I am sure you will be taking pics and you want to look good in the pics. Also remember you will be sitting on bleachers so you want to be comfortable. It is sometime chilly in the PIR hall. A jacket/coat gloves and hat are all fine. I don't think you will need them indoors but it is quite a walk to get there. I am sure small blankets will be fine, if the kids don't need them you can sit on them to make the seats a little more comfortable.

Ok, so I need some information about the environment where the actual graduation is. Will it be cold in there since it will obviously be pretty cold when we are in GL. If so, are we allowed to bring small blankets for our little ones? Coats? Hats? etc. What is the proper attire for graduation - or does it not matter. I am open for any and all suggestions.

NavyWife - Ramada's shuttle cannot be scheduled, they have one leave at 7,and if they need to they will have a second one, then return for anyone left, that is why a lot of people had to find alternate ways with my first son

Jimbo - my son is a grad and go and he said he was def leaving on Friday, but as always it is subject to change...

Yeah, I just didn't know if the holiday played a part or not. It's no biggie either way for me since we live in the area anyway. I was just wondering what they would say.

WE got our short phone call tonight!  It was awesome to hear his voice, it sounds like things are going well. It was really short,but I still I got to hear his voice. LOVED IT

It could be...and they will give you the standard answer. They have too. It "could" change, might not. No guarentees. Our PIR was on a Thursday...Memorial Day was the holiday. My son was told up until he finished BS (he was in the first divisions to go through the Thursday before.) I still planned on staying until Sunday...just in case. Tuesday while I was flying over...he called and left a message that his liberty had changed and he was flying out on Sunday. That's how fast and late it can change. Even the group that left that morning was supposed to be in two groups. One leaving later in the day...that changed that changed too and they all left together.
