Jimbo...that's pretty much the answer I got too.  All we can do is HOPE & PRAY.

Just as an FYI...I was reading the family guide on the RTC site. It reads that they try to move the recruits out the day after PIR. I wrote the Public Affairs Office that publishes the guide and asked if Friday's being a federal holiday would mean that my recruit would be leaving on Saturday. The gentleman wrote me back that they will "try to fly her out the day after graduation." So I wouldn't expect much in the way of liberty, other than Thursday, if your guys and gals are heading out of town for A School.

Jealous Jimbo! I wish we would have thought about the Navy Federal before he left that would be great If I got his check then. Im really hoping it comes this week, I talked to my husband 2 wks ago and they were doing the direct deposit papers. We should get it Saturday right??

Heather- have you gotten your housing allowance yet? Do you think it will come with the first check?

We were in a PIR group of 9 divisions.  We were at Residence and scheduled to be on the 6:30 shuttle.  We were on there with just 2 other people (only 5 of us counting the driver so it wasn't even full). No problem getting there.  I strongly suggest scheduling the first shuttle out that you can.
Comment by danagagirl on October 13, 2011 at 6:48am
NavyWIfe10 - We did take the shuttle last time, I was worried about it then because there were 13 div graduating when he did (1003 graduates!! x at least 4 family members= a lot of people!!!) This time there are not as many divisions (only 8) I don't think it would be as crowded. The other issue then was there was only one shuttle, then they brought a second one. But a lot of people were left behind and did not get to ride shuttles after waiting. There were people standing outside the hotel waiting on the shuttle at 5:30 am, but they still don't leave until 7:00 am. We got to the base around 7:20 or so and inside around 7:40..long line outside to get in. :) Hope this helps
