For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

What does this mean exactly? The person on the guest list has to wait in the Visitor Center with the other hopeful guests until after the ceremony has begun?

Comment by diannep on October 6, 2011 at 6:11pm: Yes, there should be no training for the SRs on Monday...federal holiday...which means maybe letters written?!!!! HOOYAH! Also means they drop back a day in the week/day number they were on.

Comment by Lala Ribbon Queen PIR Ribbons on October 6, 2011 at 6:06pm: Remember Monday is a holiday and next weeks mail may be delayed by a day :-( I am not sure if it a holiday for the recruits or not but if it is they should have extra time to write :-D

I don't know much about the Ninja stuff but the shark thing is punishment handed down by RDC's so not hazing. I really don't think they would put up with any hazing at all.

Comment by Lala Ribbon Queen PIR Ribbons on October 6, 2011 at 5:49pm: We took 4 extra guests when my daughter had PIR and we all got in with no problem and there were 13 DIV's graduating. There are no guarantee's that all will get in but in most cases they do.
