Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Lizzy, when my son was in boot camp I got a phone call around that time too.

I hope everyone gets their phone call.

Please don't feel bad if you don't. RTC does not have enough phones for everyone to make a call. It all depends on how much time there is.

I am on cloud 9 today. I received two letters today.

Betsy to confirm what you have been saying the first letter was not as positive as the second one. The first letter was the div was not working as well together getting yelled at a lot etc. the second letter seems like they are getting settled in now and things are starting to flow better. Her second letter made me feel so much better. She is home sick but that is to be exprected. Wisdom teeth coming out this week! Overall sounds like she and the div are doing well. These young ladies and gentlemen are brave individuals and we should be proud of each and everyone of them! Go Navy!
