Jimbo - do you know anything, good or bad, about the Westin in Wheeling?  Looks like a really nice hotel.

I GOT A LETTER!!!! Sorry for yelling but I'm sssoooo happy!!!!! My son actually wrote me!!! He sounds good, almost like he's at summer camp instead of boot camp. I think he's hiding something, LOL. One part of the letter he sounded a little down. He said that he could only have four visitors at graduation. I think he forgot that kids under 12 don't need a ticket to PIR and his sister won't be 12 until Thanksgiving Day!

I'm so glad I finally got a letter!!! For those of you who haven't...it's coming, keep your heads up!

Diane,

I'm used to it...lol. As a Mr. Mom on the kid's field trips, I would always got the "ok, moms...oh and dad". Always thought it was funny!

HI Bellachella! How cute! Your husbands first plane ride! :) I HATE planes! Anyway... congratulations on getting your arrangements out of the way! Couple questions: How much are you paying at the Navy Lodge? Is there a link for it? I'm not seeing it on the insert that came with the letter. Wishing for our letters to come today!!!

Good Morning All, I hope everyone is doing well so far today.  Wishing for a phone call and/or letter!

FTLW - I'm not positive if it was you who posted about those on active military duty should be able to have their credit card companies reduce their interest rate.  I know I read it somewhere but can't find it.  It was a whole clause about mortgages, credit cards and other things along those lines.   If you have can you please repost or if someone else knows, please post.

Thanks!

...should say...you can have airport time with them also on Friday should they fly out then.
Comment by diannep on September 30, 2011 at 7:56am
danagirl:  They would not know yet when they are flying out.  They don't find this out until a couple of weeks before PIR.  You may want to fly out on Sat rather than Friday, just in case.  You can always do some sightseeing if your sailor leaves earlier.  If there is a chance they fly out on Sat, you can have airport time with them, even at the gate.  So if you book out on Sat, book out later in the day.

Got my first letter..my son wrote more than I thought he would :)

I hope to be at the Meet and Greet at Ramada, but may be leaving later in the day due to just starting a new job a month ago. I look forward to it as I met some great people from my last son's PIR and the meet and greet. Most discussions have had grad and go's leaving on Friday, so I will prob leave late Fri just in case I can have some time with him :)
