I have been putting everything I want to take in the spare bedroom and trying to figure out if we're going to be able to just have carry on luggage or have to check a bag. Bobster called last night and told me all this stuff he wants me to bring but isn't sure if he will be leaving right after graduation. Says he won't know for sure til Wed and won't be able to call home.
hope to hear soon
Welcome aboard, You will find N4M very informative and other Navy Moms here to support you. It's always good to have others to talk to. I have not gotten on much lately, you know thye Holidays and such. My son got home today for Christmas. I will be on more after he returns to Great Lakes Jan 2, he is in A school there now He PIR 12/3/10. I look forward to talking to you.
Disregard my last question...sorry. You will find out in about 2-3 weeks with the form letter that they send home. I forgot...see it wasn't that painful since I forgot already. lol Kind of like child birth, lots of pain, but then we soon forget.
Hi there...thinking about you today! Your Joe left today and we picked our Joe up at the airport for leave for 2 weeks. The last 3 months have gone really fast, so I know that your's will, too! Great pictures, handsome boy! I refer to mine as the "man-child". lol He will do just fine at GL...start marking time on your calendar. The good thing is that you are not that far away, like us, to attend graduation. When will he be graduating?
Stay strong...so far so good! You will get through this and you will be busy with the holidays. Believe me, after the first 3 weeks the time will go fast!
Joe, our son, just graduated (PIR) on November 5, 2010 and now arrived in Pensacola Florida yesterday. Basic training went fast and I guarantee that your's will go fast too. I was busy writing Joe every single day and while that was keeping me busy, it was also helping him get through boot camp. They look forward to every single piece of mail that they get. So start stocking up on the stamps.
Also, in basic training they let our son keep his wallet, but he regretted not wearing a watch bcause they would have let him keep that too if he wanted. With them not having a cell phone, it was hard for them to keep track of the time. Put names, addresses and phone numbers on a small sheet of paper on who he should be writing to and that way he has the info at hand in his wallet. We also told our son to call only me because I had a cell phone that I was able to keep with me 24/7. You never know when you might get their calls. I'm sure that you probably know all this by know, but my cell phone was our life-line and I didn't want him to miss talking to us either. I would be heartbroken to have missed his calls...
