My youngest son left for boot training camp on Feb 11. I got the phone call he was there. I missed the second phone call which made me so upset. I had been waiting for that phone call that I thought was coming to my cell phone but he called the house phone while I was out. He rarely called the house before he left. I think he did not know my nor his dad cell by heart. I wrote him and told him to call my cell only if he gets a chance to call again. I have wrote several letters to him every…

Dear MY3SONS,
I assume you have encountered a disagreeable episode in one of your groups. I don't see any discussion posted currently which indicate an religious bashing. If it happens in one of your groups, then contact the group creator or admin. If the creator of the group is long-gone and there are no admins, then contact Colleen, the Navy For Moms admin. There are a number of Christian based groups on this side and they are very active (Prayer Wall and Christian Chat) with many…

My son leaves March 13th for boot camp. I was really concerned but I am glad I found this web site, it helps me with knowing what to expect while he is away. We are planning a party this weekend and wanted to know if anyone has any ideas. I was planning on having cards for everyone to write something so that I could send to him while he is away. Anyone have any other ideas? Thanks

Hi
my daughter, age 19, left for boot camp on 2-20-13. I heard from her that night about 9:30pm. The scripted call. We said our good byes at MEPS. She is so excited to begin her journey. I am happy and excited for her and so very proud. I think it was harder for my husband, her "daddy" to say goodbye !
God willing she will do well. Waiting to get "the letter" and the next phone call ! She is always on my mind. ...Liz

Last night I didnt sleep at all, but then again I haven't slept since the day he left(December 13,2012). I am always and i feel like there is always something that I need to do. I try to stay stong for my sailor cause I know he worries about me just as much as I worry about him. He tells me all his emotions and I help turn his pain into strenght and sadness in to joy. I am always puting on this front for him so he wont see how much I hurt. I love being the one with him on this path with him…

My 18-year old son went to MEPS last week, and he is scheduled to leave for BC on September 3. Just when I was beginning to come to terms with his enlistment, he decides that he wants to change his rating to air rescue (AIRR). Of course, I'm totally freaking out over this decision since it sounds extremely dangerous to me! I was wondering if any of the moms out there have any experience with this rating? Is it as dangerous as it sounds??? Any information will be greatly appreciated!!

Hi everyone. This is my 1st time writing-still trying to figure out how to use the site. My daughter just left for bootcamp yesterday. While I'm very proud of her and excited for her future it was also a very sad day for me. Very hard to see her leave. Got her phone call home around 10:30 last night and already waiting for the letter to come with her address and PIR date. Anyone else out there have someone leave on the 13th?
