my son has left and i am missing him like crazy!!!!!!!!!!!!

Took my son to the recruiter on monday, he boarded on tuesday morning the plane to BC and last nite he called me with the short message "i arrived safe and expect the box in a few weeks" Even though the call was less than a minute, i got a chance to tell him i loved him and good luck. It was good hearing his voice.

I JUST TALKED TO MY GIRL!!!!

I am SO GLAD TO HAVE TALKED TO MY GIRL..I JUST hung up! She is doing good, just a little stressed the girls continue to talk in her division and they keep getting "beat" Erin said she is so upset because they are the lowest scoring division because of the girls and they arent earning any flags. So PRAY that these girls will STEP IT UP and our DIV 188 will earn some reward to make them PROUD!

Erin was a little emotional as was I. She passed her swim test. She said she played it safe and… Continue

Ship 10 Div 171

I would like to hear from you all who have loved one in Div 171 Ship 10. What is going on that we never hear from our sons?

Flat Barry

Everyone knows how tough it is to give up someone they love for a few months, but one thing I have not thought a lot of (until recently) is how much he is giving up. Not only did my boyfriend leave me, but he left his family and friends as well. Being selfish is easy to do, but being selfless is much harder. I have yet to hear from him and it's been almost two weeks since he left, but I know he is thinking of me and hoping that I am doing well.

Since he has given up so much for me I find… Continue

The letter

It arrived and I was shaking when I opened it carefully as if was a bomb..I looked at it searched for those few words..and this is what Joshua had to say "RAWR I'M A DINASOUR: WITH A SMILEY FACE.THEN I'm safe, its all good, but yea, ill see you at graduation! -Josh" Those first words made me cry with joy..I'm so happy he cracked a joke made me relax..That was the best moment for me..He is such a comedian..the house is quiet without him but at least my… Continue

Just got home from graduation.....

It is Monday April 12, 2010. My son graduated on Friday! It was an amazing day (an amazing weekend). When my son left for boot camp I was devastated and panicked...He was 20 and had done many things in his life but lived at home still knowing for a year he was going into the navy.I had never been away from him...Going into his rrom when he left and having it be empty was horror for me. So final....I cried alot in the beginning. Everyone talks about THE BOX...(which contains all the recruits… Continue

Graduation...

I have seen two different dates for PIR for Ship 10 Div 166. Does anyone know for sure if it is April 23rd or 24th? I hope 23rd cause I have already made reservations.

The Beginning for Us.

I have never been so emotional in all of my life (other than maybe my pregnancy... lol).

My 21 year old brother, Jordan, has joined the Navy. When he told me he was thinking about it... I thought, "oh that'll be neat...."; obviously not taking it 100% serious. But he certainly went through with it. The day he went to MEPS and got sworn in was the first day I actually cried about it.... Reality set in. My baby brother is now a US Navy Sailor... wow, so…

I Want To Get To Know Friends In Norfolk

So this deployment is going by really fast and my BF emailed me and he was concerned about how I was going to get from the air port to my hotel and from my hotel to the pier on homecoming morning. He offered to have some of his friends chauffeur me around but I don't know them and I don't think I would feel too comfortable. What would be the best hotel to stay in that is close to the air port and pier.I live in New Mexico and I would like to get to know… Continue

The Missed Phone Call

Life is funny, you know? The day we dropped Erik off at the recruiting office was the single most sorrowful day of my life. My grief was so strong it triggered my gag reflex and I wanted to throw up. Thankfully I didn't, but I did stand there in that "lonely" corner strip mall crying and gasping for breath. Thankfully my husband took me in his arms and my sorrow was private.

Knowing Erik was simply going across town to spend the night at the airport rubbed salt in the wounds. It would… Continue
