Mom's Prayer for her Son

Mom's Prayer for her Son

I Give To You, My Son-

I held him as an infant; I hugged him as a boy

and through the years he has become my greatest pride and joy.

I love him more than I can say,

his life more precious than my own,

but gone are the whims and notions of the little boy that I had known.

For the years have passed so quickly since the time it all began

and now he stands before me with…

signed, sealed and delivered...

http://sonandsea.blogspot.com/

No, I was not as sad as I look in this photo, I promise!!

Yesterday was the big day. My son did his final swearing-inand boarded the plane to Great Lakes.
He was able to text me and even called from the airport .And then at 12:32 I got "the 3 second" call.
He sounded strong, wide-awake (I'll bet!) and the teeniest bit nervous. I said a few encouraging…

The journey has begun

My Aaron left today for Great Lakes. We spent the day with him at MEPS. That took forever! We watched him swear in and took great pictures. Then it was time to hurry up and wait. His flight was for late afternoon. As they finally lined up the Navy kids, they started counting off. My Aaron and a few others were told they had to wait again because there was not enough room in the van for the ride to the airport. So, we waited some more. He became frustrated. With barely any sleep from last… Continue

leave or liberty after A-pact

does anyone know... my son should finish with A-pact in about 2-3 weeks, in Pensacola,  then he said he can come home for maybe 2 weeks  BEFORE he goes on to his base in California.  BUT that it would be considered " re-routing" and that he would have to pay the plane ticket difference to come home first then on to his base.  What I would like to know is...is this typical and do they still get paid while they are "off " for those days they are home??    Still trying to figure all this out,… Continue

Actually, wasn't that yesterday?
He leaves for his recruiter's office Sunday afternoon
then on to Great Lakes for boot camp.
He is 18.

Vehicles on base in A-school????

My SR will be going to A-school in Pensacola Florida after he grads 9/1. We were wondering if he'll be able to take his car. We are about 12 hours from there but are planning a trip down over Thanksgiving weekend and were hoping we could bring him his car. Anyone know what the rules are and if he'll be able to have it??? Thanks!

just left for boot

MY son just shipped out today for boot camp, its a very mixed emotion kind of time. Im happy and proud and know that this will be a good start on his adult life, but I miss him so much already, for the firsat time in 18 years I wont be able to be there and help if needed.  Just a lot of first happening all at once i know he will be fine and do well but the thought of him being there and so nervous and anxious without me is very hard.  already looking forward to seeing him at graduation
