First phone call!!

Just spoke to my SR future sailor! He sounded really strong. Telling me areas where there needs to be improvement, also his accomplishments. I'm so proud! I hung the phone up and cried like a baby! :)

Not What I Expected as a newer Stepmom

My stepson left for BC on 8/28 and up until the time he left I couldn't wait to 'get him out of the house' and now that he's gone I am finding that I am thinking about him and this new experience and wondering how he his handling it and wondering how he is doing. I anxiously waited for 'the call' and although we missed it, I was very glad (for me and his dad) that he left a message so we could hear how he was doing after his last day at MEPS and his day of travel. I am now anxiously awaiting… Continue

Received the form letter today :-)

My son is Ship 11 Div 396 PIR 10/18,  I am concerned because his recruiter gave me Ship 11 Div 340 which was wrong and I mailed something to that Div.  I just hope he still gets it.  I received the letter on the 10th day.  I thought I would never get it.  Then tonight as I was cleaning up after dinner I was surprised to hear his voice on the other end of my phone.  He was able to call me.  Apparently he was really homesick so they allowed him a 5 min phone call just to hear our voices.  I…

The whole experience

So Monday july 8, i wake up at 6 knowing todays the day im going to kiss and hug my boyfriend for the last time for 12 weeks. We may be young yes, but i truely love him. We drive and hour to the armed forces center and slowly say goodbye. We kiss and hug. Im so choked up, i can barely say " i love you". Im trying not to cry because if i cry, his mom will just cry that much more. So i hold it in. He goes into the office and finishes up the last part of the paper work. Then he walks bout our…

MY DAUGHTER IS IN SHIP 11 / DIVISION 396 (I FINALLY GOT THE BOX) HAPPY!

I finally got her box yesterday and I was so happy but I still cried.. I called her recuiter to let him know that I got her box and he gave me her address which made me even more happy, cuz now I can send all the letter i wrote to her, which makes it easier for me emotionally. I would really like to get in touch with any parents who have a son or daughter in the same division and ship as my daughter. Thx julie
