My son left Aug 30th

My son left Aug/30/2010, I miss him every single day, even dough I know he is going to be wonderful, to me is still terrible the fact they don't let them "free" to make calls or even for us parents to see them one time or 2 during boot camp, of course, if our children want it. I realy hope this is going to be for his benefit as I have been told:~)

September 10, 2010 MEPS

Peyton went to MEPS (military entrance processing center) yesterday. There you take your ASFAB test, physical exam, sit with a job counselor, choose a job, take the oath, sign your job contract and find out when you leave for boot camp. Steve and I drove up to sit with the job counselor and watch the swearing in ceremony.

Peyton had already taken his ASFAB in high school so he didn't have to sit through that part. His physical went well and no problem there,…

Totally Bummed!!!!

So I got another letter from my daughter today, was so excited until I read the letter... She is Grad-N-Go, which means I will only see her Friday, she leaves Saturday morning at 2:00am for Pensacola... I know I should be greatfull for spending at least 24hrs. with her since I haven't seen her in 2 months, but I wanted the whole weekend. I am sure that I am sounding very selfish but I miss her soooooooo much. We where going to do the whole 12hr. drive to Great Lakes, but think we maybe…

Really?

Just realized that everyone must think I'm a total backwards hick. Well, they're 1/2 right :-) But we raise pretty good kids - in fact, we raise Sailors! (to-be, I know, but c'mon - I'm excited!!!) (and I've NEVER blogged before, so this is COOL for me!) Hey, my chinese fortune said that those who laugh at themselves are not laughed at by others.....makes sense.......but I figure if I can have y'all laughin' with me, then that's even better!!! :-) ...see if this blog thing works...

Lessons

Well...I've been on this site for a while but have never communicated with anyone. Just gleaned all the information I could. But if I don't express myself a little I feel that I might burst. I constantly feel on the edge of crying...and it doesn't make sense because I will see my son PIR next week. It may have something to do with the fact that last Thursday he got a reward phone call and tried 3 different phone numbers and not one of us were able to pick up. That phone was sitting right in… Continue

Marriage Questions!! LEGAL STUFF!

So me and my sailor were married on september 3.

I live in California, he is stationed in Pensacola, Florida

I have changed my bank account and drivers license

I know I still need to change my Social Security Card last name

But I have a few questions,

I know he needs my birth certificate, ssc, and the marriage license to fill out paper work on his end.

1. Can I fax him these papers or do they need to be sent via…

Getting through the alone times

My boyfriend and i are absolutly inseprable, that is until he left for bootcamp. He has been gone for about three weeks now and i miss him like crazy. I am so proud of him and yet that selfish part of me that wishes he hadnt left takes over often. The way i am dealing with him being away is a mix of prayer and keeping myself insanely busy. I balance my days with school, work and a new kitten. lol. I know it sounds cheesy but having my new kitten ,meekah, gives me something to care for now that… Continue

Graduation and on...

So my young woman is now a Sailor! Graduation was great and I was able to meet so many other parents from around the country. She is now in A School and is looking forward to her duty station. She was one of those that thought Bootcamp was cool and fun and a blast. What can I say, probably easier than life with her mama. I am glad she is taking so much of the positive from her experience.

Cheers for PIR day!!!!!!!

Yeah!! What an experience on PIR day!!

It was so amazing and so breath taking for me. To see my son proudly marching in with his division wearing his dress whites. OMG- tears were flowing from my eyes as I proudly watched him and his division stand with pride. After the ceremony was over, we raced down to the floor to see him, and the tears were flowing from my family eyes as well as my new sailor's eyes!! He said his emotions just took over him when he seen us running to him…
