do not take the I-90 toll if coming from detroit or the east. stay on I-94 and do not get off. we followed the gps instructions which took us through the "bowels of hell". not a nice area. also try to get through the chicago area before 3pm. traffic at that time is horrific.other than that, the ceremony is overwelming and highly emotional; or at least it was for me. the color guards, the bands, and the precision that these sailors…

I think about you every single day
Wonder then pray that you’re well,
and doing better than just “okay”.
I know I need to let go
be happy and say I’m swell,
stand back and let you grow.
Baby, I am so happy, so proud and excited for you!
to start this new chapter, a grand adventure!
and damn if I don’t believe in you too!
Becoming a great man, starting anew.
Yet all that aside
I can’t stop the tears falling…

Hello fellow crew Moms,
Just wondering if any one has a child on the Iwo Jima? It was to be our son's first time home for Christmas in 3 years, but doesn't look like it will happen now. If any one has any pointers on how/what to send for Christmas please enlighten me. We would like to send a care package to several of the troops on board. Thank you, Debbie

I just wanted to know what the Navy policy is on dating? Once they are on their way in their ship, can they date someone in the same rank? I know they can't get off the ship, but are there places to hang out together in the ship? I am sure I will be a bunch of e-mails on this one. Thank you!!

Well imagine that! After finally receiving the form letter and was so happy to get those letters out...I'm feeling all anxious again. Sometimes time moves so slow when you're waiting on something. I think I have a new found respect for the post office, because suddenly what they will deliver to me means the world and a life line to my son. I have to admit that I thought I would be able to throw myself into work to keep myself occupied and my mind off missing my son, however the complete…

My daughter is in Ship 11 Div 031. I have yet to receive any letters from her!! Got the form letter & her box in about a week. Been over 3 weeks now without a letter. Only live 4 hours from Great Lakes! Called her recruiter. What a joke. He said to call the recruit command. That would not be good for her!! This is my second time going through boot camp. My oldest daughter is a Marine. Should I be worried?
