Seems I'm not exactly sure when we are relaying events to each other what is really today, or yesterday, or gosh maybe it's tomorrow already? When my daughter says she's going to call tomorrow. That means tomorrow in her time zone NOT mine. My son is gone and I feel so empty. I tried to say anything and everything I could to him, before he left, yet I can't help but wonder if I said too much or too little. I miss him so much! After he swore in, we went and ate lunch (without him of course) while waiting for him to depart. There was a Burker King on the base, so we ate there. My son will be graduating soon from boot camp. Can anyone give me any information regarding decent hotels in the area of the base, as well as rental cars, or shuttles from the hotels to the base? We have the brochure that was sent to us, but was wondering if anyone had any good recommendations.

Well tomorrow is the big day - the day my son is left in the hands of the Navy, to begin the adventure of his life. I'm proud, anxious, excited, and miserable all at the same time. OMG! so much to tell everyone. First, if you are going to spend some time in Chicago, don't drive. Chicago has NO parking at all. If you do drive, make sure you set a side parking money. It is expensive and make sure you read the parking signs.
