Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video:"Importance of Navy OPSEC."
Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass isno longer needed to drive on to base for parking.
Please see changes to attending PIR in the PAGES column. The PAGES are located under the member icons on the right side.

Ladies, Gents…
In the past few weeks there has been a few events where people have talked about stories in which help is needed via donations of some sort. And knowing how big the N4M’s hearts are, many responded right away. After a debate with my team, we had decided this: we can't use this site for soliciting money or items. I am not saying these heartbreaking stories are fake- but how do I know if everyone that asks for money or items is telling the truth? I don’t. I can’t… Continue
Alright... I wanted to highlight all the state/location groups that we started, knowing that we have every state represented on this site, but there may be or may not be a group(s) for them. Do you see your state? http://www.navyformoms.com/groups/group/listFeatured
If not, start one up! It’s very easy…
How do I create a group?
To create a group on a network, you must… Continue

2000 have found a purpose to be here.
I remember how excited I was when we hit 50 people. I came home and told my hubby… “We had 8 people join today!” Hehe… I can’t believe that was only 3 months ago. THREE! For those who have helped spread the word about our site, shared their story, and have been… Continue
Alright Ladies… it’s time to spread the word.
You can now strut your stuff in N4M clothes! :D Yay!
After multiple requests… we have selected three great online printing vendors to carry our N4M Swag.
Now, in the next few days I should be adding another color or two of the logo.
I’ve kept it to apparel just to start off. : ) So let’s just see where this goes.
*Note we aren’t making profit of these shirts. Zero. As you can see, the prices only a little from site to… Continue
Dearest Mom:
Happy Mom’s Day! <-- It’s YOUR day today : )
I know we are using that tag line in our videos: “You give them the values, we give them the opportunity”. And I was thinking …that one of the best parts of this site! I love reading these values. Some of values that you practice and talk about… my own mother passes down to me! It’s amazing how some mom-isms are really universal from Main to California and North Dakota to Texas. It doesn’t matter status,… Continue

And for those who clicked in to say hi- and watched us... THANK YOU- (and sorry about the freeze issues! lol- and when I had to turn my computer on it's side to get a disk out!) Please forgive me for not… Continue

You're thirsty. Heh. It was requested that N4M's make time and space for a Scuttlebutt corner. Thus... after working out some ground rules (with a member and our Navy contacts)... we have a brand new category going up tonight.
"Scuttlebutt” First off... what is it?
Sailors exchanged gossip when they gathered at the scuttlebutt for a drink of water). It's an old Navy term. This can be the place where we discuss politics, current events and hot…Continue
Here is the history of the blue star and gold star flags. Many of you have said you never heard of them. Hope this helps!
The Blue Star Banner was designed in 1917 during World War I by an Army officer who had two sons serving on the front lines. This small banner, which officially measures 8.5" by 14", quickly became the unofficial symbol of a child in military service. Today, families with loved ones serving proudly display the banner in their windows, one star for each family… Continue
A Service Flag Wish and Prayer
The Star on this flag has been placed with care,
And made for you with a wish and a prayer:
May your journey be safe as life unfolds
While this star of hope shines bright and bold.
So, yesterday and today I posted some sailor stories in one of our quieter categories (Sailor Stories). I’ll be adding one or two stories a week just for your entertainment (and knowledge). It’s one of those things, that when you get around to it, they are fun and interesting to read. I encourage you to read for yourself to see what I am talking about. I think the stories may give a unique point of view (which we love on this site!).
(1) We have a new masthead. heh. No more "Dove Soap" Looking moms.
(2) Also, update on the political/hot topic forum... A N4M's member has kindly offered to help me write the ground rules for it (so give us a day or so to hammer it out).
(3) Swag... I think I posted something yesterday, but the proposal for N4M swag is being finalized and sent in this week to our Navy Contacts.
Allllllllright. Just to follow up with the multiple PM’s that I have received and chatter on the boards dealing with this RDC issue.
The issue being- (from the moms) that the RDC’s were taking in the book camp recruits behind closed doors and showing them their mom’s page. Yesterday we made some calls… and here is our update directly from our Navy representative:
“The issue of confidentiality and the RDC’s at Recruit Training Command is being resolved. The CMD Master… Continue
Hello everyone! Yesterday we added a poll to the main page. We are getting so many visitors to the site… that my group and I are wondering- why you are here with us today? Please note: It’s the one thing on this site that non-members can actually respond to. And we hope everyone takes the time to vote and tell us… because heh, we are curious! Thank you! Sincerely, Catherine
I need the night off. (Really.)
And though I am wondering if my gmail account can handle all the rss feeds… It’s something I have to do tonight.
(And it may or may not be to mourn that the Tigers are working through their 7th straight loss… or it may or may not be to spend some much needed time with my hubby and to enjoy this spring day).
I have so many things that I know I need to do tomorrow… publicly talk about this RDC issue… start a political/hot topic… Continue
Hello Everyone:
I'm not going to lie. I felt horrified today when I read a blog (which I ended up deleting) from somebody made it a point to make members feel uncomfortable for how they may expresses things. This is my response: It's utterly unacceptable!
Mother’s…. and non- mothers are dealing with this Navy experience differently. And they view life a little differently than you will...this isn’t going to change. In fact, this blog (that I… Continue
