OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Final got our first letter!

Our daughter finally sent the first letter. She went to basic training on March 27. Although we have received 2 phones calls, the first was 10 seconds and the second one was 2 minutes, we still hadnt received her address. We finally have it. For anyone else whose son or daughter went on March 27 and has a child on ship 03 division 201, I would love to chat with you because that is where our daughter is. Another First

Daughter went to bootcamp today 4-10-13

I'm new to this site and hoping to hear back from other mom's that have daughters in the Navy. Mine left for bootcamp just today. I have so many emotions and so many questions. What is bootcamp going to be like for her? Is it 24/7? Will she be ok? Will she be safe? Would love to hear feedback....

Graduation Question

I was told that when we go to the graudation we should sit in the color of the ship our SR is in..so my question is how do we find out what that color is? I looked at the chart of the training center and see color coded buildings...is this the ship color I look for?? Just want to be in the best area to see my baby...I mean Sailor.. anxious Mom.

MISSED IT!!!

yesterday, as i had to leave early for work, i should home late last night to find the fed ex missed label strapped to my door. I am hoping that it will get here before I leave today. A School

Well My son has been in A School in GL for the last two weeks he seems to like it, a little homesick but he's doing good! He graduated PIR on 3/22/2013 and we had a wonderful time with him, we just made reservations to go back up and spend time with him this Memorial Day Weekend can't wait to see him. We are praying he gets San Diego as his first station fingers crossed.

Recruiter question

How long does it normally take a recruiter to get back with you? My son filled out first paperwork in February. No word for a month. He called his recruiter. He was told paperwork waiting on three people to sign off before his MEPS appt can be made. It has been another two weeks with no word. Is this normal? Thanks for any info.

DEPLOYED SON DOESN'T KNOW HIS GRANDMOTHER DIED

I truly believe that no one can identify with what I'm going through. I was very young when I had my son and my mom helped me raise him. My mom has always been a very sick woman but from the day my son left to boot camp her health began to rapidly decline. In January my mom entered into the hospital and my son shortly after was deployed for a 6 month tour. Ship 02 DIV924

Well it's been almost 6 weeks since my son has been in bootcamp. I can't wait until graduation. It seems like a year since I have seen him. He's doing fine, in the band and playing at 3 graduations plus his own. His graduation is 4/26. I saw some post that other sailors didn't get to call home on Easter eather. Our sailor didn't get to eather. This week he went throw HELL WEEK I'm hoping he calls home tonight.Well everyone take care and hang in there.

HE HAS LEFT!!!!! 4/4/13

Hello All,

My son shipped to boot camp on 4/4/13 and as I am the proudest mom ever, it is also the hardest thing I have ever done. As most of the time I am the "proud mom" I have come to realize that I have my down time as well. Ughhhh...

Almost too weeks and no official letter yet... I'm trying to be patient but this is killing me!! Everyone who left on or around my sons date (3/27) received their letter....what if mine got lost??! What do I do??? I'm just worried I won't get the information I need to go to PIR.. How would I get that if I don't get the letter??? Help!!! Anyone know?? Freaking out at 6:30am on a Saturday!! PLEASE HELP ME FIND A WORK FROM HOME JOB

I'm a stay at home mom and a Navy wife. I love to spend time with my family and friends but while my husband is on Deployment i would love to make so extra money.I would like to know if any one of you guys can give me a Great lead for a work form home job that is legit ..NO AVON OR MARY KAY STUFF PLZ....(nothing wrong with those company but there just not what i'm looking for).Please HELP me if you can,Thanks in advance.

Our wonderful neighbor just gave me a letter from my son.....wrong mail box

After 2 weeks of no communication, a great letter came. My son told me he just had his 2 bottom wisdom teeth pulled 30 minutes before writing.Yikes ! He has passed all his tests so far and felt he was getting faster and stronger - but not smarter yet, that comes with a school. At last, he is seeing the value of education. He enjoyed getting his dress uniform and said he has a collar devise of a silver eagle perched on one chevron for holding the Mail P.O. So very good to hear…

Support Groups

I live in Worcester County area and I was wanted to put a question out there. I know that it hard to determine what good or bad in the news today. But are there any supports for Mom in the Worcester Area for I worry so much and have no one here to talk to . People and friend dont understand.

letter from my son

yesterday, received a letter from my son. he graduates on 4/26/2013. not having as much time as i would like with him. have to have him back that Friday night by 9:00 pm. he leaves for nuke school Saturday. That's okay, because every minute i will cherish. he is an amazing son. the navy is lucky to have him.
