My favorite letter.....♥

Normally I don’t share all the mushy stuff in my letters, but this one absolutely made my heart melt……

Jan 12, 2011

“Hey Beautiful,

I love you, and hope everything is going well for you. I got a new picture I sleep with now, and she is very beautiful, and makes me want to come home. If you have not figured it out yet I got the card you sent…

“Well today after the Holiday Routine we had a Divisional beat down. These kids just don’t want to listen to the recruit chain of command, and they don’t know how to act. Plus most of the recruit chain of command can’t even follow their own orders. What a joke! Then add in the fact that these kids cant even figure out how to march in columns of 3 or 6.…

Ship 09 DIV 068

I got a phone call from Morgan on Monday and a long letter on Tuesday. She said there is not a day goes by that she is not 100% sure that she has made the right decision. She is tired but sounds like she is actually having fun and developing some good relationships. I am so happy for her! Can't wait for PIR on 2/11/11.

Day 6

Day 6... See I can still count. lol

So today was good, spent the day at the house, dad did the dishes for the boys. We did some laundry. Storm Chaser slept most of the day. Dad is teasing him with cat treats. I am not sure who is having more fun, dad or the cat.

So if and when you need anything, let me know. Even things we did not talk about.

Love you, take care and always keep a smile on your face!

January Visit

Just got to visit my sailor one last time before he deploys for 7 months or so. First night home and it already sucks real bad being away from him again. I think these months are gonna be the hardest thing i've ever been through. I'm away from home at college right now and that doesn't help either. I feel like I can't be okay without him but I know I have to be. Both for my sake and his. This few day visit we had was amazing though. We went to the beach and hung out all day. I went to work with… Continue

Sailor missing

Sad news;

U.S. and British units are searching for a Sailor from USS Halsey (DDG-97) who went missing while the ship was conducting operations in the Gulf of Oman Jan. 18. Our thoughts and prayers are with the crew and the Sailor's family as the search continues.

The Box

I received "The Box" today, my heart is breaking more and more each day. When most parents have their son or daughter leave home they can still talk to them! I just feel so lost not being able to even pick up the phone and talk to him or get a simple txt from him! It's sooo hard everyday coming home and pulling in the driveway and seeing his truck parked in the driveway and knowing that he's not home!!!!!!! I know he's doing the right thing for his future but that doesnt make this emptiness… Continue

PIR INFO. would be much appreciated.

My daughter is set for PIR February 4th and my trip is all set and paid for. However I am really getting antsy because I have not heard from her for two weeks. Her Battlestation is set for the 27th as far as I know and I can't wait to get her phone call "Mom I'm OFFICIALLY A SAILOR!" My concerns for PIR are that she added her younger brother on the list for her PIR and that his school picture ID and birth certificate will be enough for him to be admitted onto Lakes for the event. He is 14 and… Continue

Ship 012, Division 092

I'm looking for anyone who has a child in this Division.  Thought it would be nice to keep up with each other.  It's week 2 starting today.  It's been the longest 7 days of my life.  I've kept myself busy but it sure has been a roller coaster of emotion.  There are days I wake up anxious and days I'm so busy I almost forget.... well not forget but I hope you know what I mean.  I'm also so very proud of and excited for my son, more so than sad.  Hope there's more of you out there.  LOL

I de-stressed myself today

I got to relieve some of my stress and anxiety today. I went with my in-laws to the gun range.

I love going shooting.
I remember the first time I went I was so nervous to even think about touching a gun.

But now I enjoy it. My comfort level has increased greatly over the last few trips to the range and

I have moved up from only shooing 22's to shooting a 9mil and 40 cal.

The smaller holes are from the 22…

Missing my son...

Almost finished week two and I miss my son terribly.  I have good days and bad, but the weekends are tougher.  I have more time to think.  I find myself laughing out loud when I think of the funny things he used to say/do, and I cry on a dime when I think of what he's doing and will be doing.  I really love the book I ordered, "Honor, Courage, Commitment.  It helps to understand what he will be doing pretty much week to week.  Some things I'd rather not know though.  Can't wait to hear from… Continue

Day 5...

Day 5... yes I believe it is 5....

So hows it going? Here it is a slow start to the day. dad is still sleeping, something about not being able to sleep regular night time hours, I think he is still a night owl, and he will always will be.

Good news the cat is a sleep, again! talked to Gretty yesterday, she is already  putting things together to send to you. her and the girls will be making you a card or pics or something for snail mail. I did send her pics of the ship, so… Continue

Deployment days 1-4 reminders of home.

So being a mom of a Sailor on the USS Enterprise that deployed 5 days ago. I send him daily emails. I just give him the daily highlights and add a few things I think he will like to read. Here are the emails I sent for days 1-4. Have not written  today's email.

First email for your deployment.

So today we got the tire fixed, AAA sent someone to come and change it, no worries. Duh why did we not…

Today was an emotional day...thinking about what is to come this next week.  In church today I got

to thinking this would be the last Sunday service that I would be able to attend with my daughter for

a while.  I am glad I have a very supportive church and hoping going to church service will help…

It's been a good while, but I'm here!

Hello everyone. I haven't been on here in a bit! But I have experienced a lot since then. I moved to California from Indiana and my Sailor deployed in October! So we're close to the end! I am so anxious for him to come home! My daughter turned 2 November 30th. Andrew missed her birthday again and my birthday is on the 18th(in two days!).

I am secretary for the FRG Board and I'm meeting some pretty nice wives. I do LOVE it here and I'm excited to have a "warm" birthday for the first… Continue

Beef Jerky for Troops

My sis has been supporting the troops for years by sending Jerky overseas.  Here is a link to her website for some fabulous jerky.  I know that she will be sending some to my son when he starts bootcamp in September.  He will have some lucky mates.

In the meantime, if you want to send some to your sailor, check out the link.
