is he ok??

My sailor has been at his first station for about a week now and I am very worried about him. He normally calls me every night or sends me a message or something to let me know that he is okay. The last time we talked was friday morning about things he needed paperwork wise and he told me he would call later to let me know how it all went. The call never came but i just put it off as he got busy and would call tomorrow(saturday). He told me he had plans to go out swimming with some friends…

WHAT A GREAT DAY! My Best Friend Called.

It was totally unexpected.  We didn't expect to hear from him today.  We thought it would be another week, that we would get a letter before a phone call.  When I herd "Hey...Mom?" my heart skipped a beat.  He sounded good and seemed to be adjusting well.  Especially having only been in Boot for 15 days.  I still miss him like crazy ,but I'm glad for him.  Its the first time since high school graduation that I think he has really been happy.  He secure in the knowledge that he has…

Re: The letter with graduation date

So I received the letter. My question is, do I take that letter to the DEERS office for my military I.D? Thanks for the feedback.

Missing My Boy!

Yes, I am having a difficult time not being able to see my son when I want to.  He left for boot camp this past January and is now attending A School.  I knew I was going to miss him and that it was going to be hard not having him around, but I did not think it was going to leave this huge void in my life.  As a mom you spend every waking hour making sure your child’s needs are being met.  Enjoying the time you have with them as they grow up whether it is a joyful time or a sad time and then…

Boyfriend got to RTC last night.

My boyfriend just got to RTC last night. Yesterday was a very emotional day but I know its just going to be so worth it in the end. I cant even explain how proud of him I am already and its only been a day. I already cant wait to see him at PIR. Just waiting for his address from his recruiter, they said that they will have it in 2 or 3 days so then I can start writing him right away. I knew that this was going to be a hard time for me but I feel like its not going to be as bad as I thought.…

Newbie Here - and just starting the journey

I've spent my life deliberately keeping a very healthy distance between myself and the military.  I was recruited by a couple of the intelligence groups, Army and Navy, and chose a business route for my career instead.  My daughter was recruited by the same intelligence groups, as well as a couple military branches, and the State Department.  She chose the State Department and loves her life moving from place to place, overseas or here in the US, and likely won't…
